A friend of mine sent me this story of his time in the Marine Corps. Read through to the end, it’s a shocker.
What strikes me most is what he said as to where he grew up: Indonesia. He told me he wanted to be President of the US someday. I remember lightly smiling and commenting that maybe by the time he gets to be 40 or so, America will be ready for a Black man to be President and I wished him luck. We spoke of the racial tensions I saw at home while growing up and I asked him if he ever saw that overseas or since he returned back to Hawaii. I don’t remember his answer, but we spoke more of his time overseas and his thoughts on life and philosophy of government. He made some strange comments to me, it was obvious he never set foot for any time in the continental United States and I told him he better realize that he is making judgments about the United States when he himself never actually lived there. I told him, “Hawaii aint the United States!”
He also told me something that I never forgot, for it caused me to do some other things in an effort to be nice to him and possibly a favor. We spoke of where I had been and the world as I saw it. I told him I had been to Africa , Mombassa specifically, and he said to me abruptly, “I was born there”. I told him he is not eligible to be president if that was true, but I remembered he said his mom was an American, so, maybe it was okay.

Please disregard my previous post. I see you answered my question in the post I am replying to.
Given the treatment you have received on this thread I don’t blame you one bit for not speaking out sooner - especially as you said you can’t be 100% sure seeing as it was 30 years ago and all... Heck, I’ve gotten back in touch with some old friends from grade school and high school and I have found my memory to be clogged with cobwebs and that was only 20 years ago!

Don’t you remember the photos during the campaign before and after he went to Hawaii? A tan on him DEFINITELY makes him look more “black” than mulatto! Wish I had the pics handy, but there is a DEFINITE difference in his skin tone before and after the trip. I wouldn’t doubt if he had a tanning bed in the White House — hmmm... wonder if we can get any White House Staff to answer THAT question???
Not nearly enough work has been done on this weird COLB of his, and I get sick of hearing “He already posted his BC online...”
There are many points we could question: I saw it suggested that his original BC was changed when he was adopted. This seems a very reasonable suggestion, but no one has looked into it.
The online COLB says that he was born in Honolulu - what does his sister’s say? What do others say? Would it say this if he were adopted and all the doc then redone, and then what would happen if his status changed back after one or two of the two divorces???
Much more investigation needs to be done, many more questions need to be asked......
More long forms as examples need to be examined.
More COLBS need to be looked at, real ones from real Americans

My detractors don’t seem to realize, if I had just blurted it out, what I remembered from then, THATS when I would have looked like I was jumping on the bandwagon.
Now? It honestly is for a college paper, I told my professor of the day and others, and she asked me to write it down.
That’s how it got around, I sent it to friends who I thought it would be interesting to read, and one of them published it on NY GOE’s website, and here we are today! :)
I am not worried, and I am not surprised that people find it hokey. It has been a long time and I obviously dont remember a lot of that day, but , like I said, I remember it only because I was going to go back and show him pictures of Mombassa from April 1980

I have no reason to doubt you. You seem like a very nice man.
It’s just that we’ve had our chain pulled so many times that we don’t know what to believe anymore.
I was involved with that whole Korir/API fiasco and I didn’t have any reason not to believe him, either.
In fact I considered him a friend long before he claimed he had Michelle Obama tape.
Korir and I had already been communicating and when the sh*t hit the fan, I basically told him you’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t.
I mention that because I have mixed feelings about the Obama eligibility issue.
I honestly don’t believe the truth will ever be revealed.
There’s a lot about Obama that will never be revealed.
I keep posting about it because a part of me wants him to have to keep paying these huge lawyer fees.
No matter where you fall along the political spectrum, I just wish these naysayers would be honest with themselves.
Say you don’t know, say you don’t care, say it doesn’t matter, say it’s not going to help get Republicans elected.
But please stop looking down your nose at those of us who believe we may be on to something here.
