CAN THE WEST BE SAVED?

“Europe today is a powder keg,” Otto von Bismarck remarked , “and the leaders are like men smoking in an arsenal.”

I am not going to waste your time tonight with yet another treatise on why Islam is not the Religion of Peace, Tolerance, Compassion, etc, etc. We are beyond that. Had America agonized, in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor, whether Shinto was actually OK but only Bushido was bad, the Greater Asian Co-prosperity Sphere would be going strong to this day. Among reasonable people, unblinkered by the dicta of political correctitude, the real score on Muhammad and his followers is well known. It has been known for centuries. That score, however, no matter how calmly stated and comprehensively supported, invariably elicits the howls of “Islamophobia” from the neoliberal elite class.

This author gets it. I can find nothing in this article with which I disagree. The article cited here front-and-centers historical, ethical and epistemological truths with which none of us can be comfortable. In fact, it tracks the ideas and the premises laid out in Lee Harris’ “The Suicide of Reason,” to an uncomfortable degree.

Will we see a civilizational collapse that encompasses the Western world? If these trends continue, the odds favor it. That’s the brutal truth. And it certainly won’t be the first time that such an event has occurred.

A world dominated by a cruel Chinese empire and the fanatical, murderous slave-keepers and practitioners of cultural genocide of Islam. That’s the prospect if we do not rise up and do the terrible things necessary to preserve our own civilization.

As an exercise for the reader, check out “The Camp of the Saints” by Frenchman Jean Raspail. Writing in the 1970’s, he presaged what is happening to France and really, all of Europe now. Thanks a tip of the kepi to Lurker, who turned me on to this book a couple of years abck.

Can it be, Yes. But that supposes an unflinching willingness to spill a great amount of blood. We are well beyond the point where we could crawl back out of the grave by simple and easy means.

Will it be? That is in doubt. Every day we lose another inch, another fiber of will to resist. If these last generations that knew freedom and liberty as a personal and true memory pass away, then The West won’t see daylight for many decades, if not centuries, to come. Most of our children are being taught lies and corrupted history, they won’t know what has been stolen from them. The fight must begin soon or there will be no fighters.

So the question isn’t can, the question should be do enough westerners value what is slipping away? They have sat back and let it come to this, so I wonder.

I see no solution that does not involve enormous loss of life. And that becomes a situation of "burning the village in order to save it". Western Values are really about the value and importance of the individual. Killing 100 million people in order to preserve those values seems like a wrong-headed approach.

I'm very pessimistic and I feel bad for my children.

There lies the problem. The West refused to head things off when it would have cost little and now we are racing past the less painful options. Every day we slide further from morally acceptable alternatives, those avenues are closing at blinding speed.

I hate knowing where we are headed, for myself, my family and for the children.

On present form, within a century the native Western majorities will melt away: “child-free” is a legitimate yuppie lifestyle term, on par with “fat-free” and “drug-free.” But whereas the threat of extinction of an exotic tribal group in Borneo or Amazonia - let alone a species of spotted owl or sperm whale - would cause alarm and prompt activism among neoliberal elites, it is deemed inherently racist to mention the fact that Europeans and their trans-Atlantic cousins are, literally, endangered species.

The author nails it right here. Steyn wrote an entire book on this issue and if you haven't read it, you should. Best,

L

Roger that - Steyn’s “America Alone” is a standard in my library. I wish I had even 2% of that guy’s talent.

Some time ago, one of FR's best essayists made the point that people stranded at sea in a lifeboat will in extremis drink their own urine in order to survive. That does not mean that they would not return to the ideal of fresh, clean water the instant they got the chance.

In like manner, even an animal will gnaw its own limb off to escape a trap and save its life.

What would you do to save your own civilization, knowing full well that the failure to act - however terrible the act - will mean slavery OR WORSE for your children and all the generations after them? This is a question that is losing its last shreds of the hypothetical. It's a question that we will all face in our lifetimes. And we will NOT have the luxury of deferring it nor will we be able to choose an answer that we like.

Civilization or barbarism and slavery?
Life for you and your children or death for the monsters who aim to consume them?

What'll it be?
