The Omnibus Arrives
It's a classic time in Congress, as lawmakers will try in the next few days to jam six budget bills through the House and Senate, so they can quickly issue press releases to take credit for some of the local projects stuffed in there.
We already had one Omnibus earlier this year, which wrapped up the leftover budget work from 2008.
Now we have a second one, as Democrats have rolled six budget bills into one, totaling $448 billion in government budgets. And yes, there will be a lot of Republican votes for this, because they are getting a chunk of the pork, too.
If you want to see what your lawmakers are up to, here is a list of the bills that will be included in this Omnibus, and a link that lets you check out what's in each part. These are all pdf files.

Five of the six bills have earmarks (there are none in the foreign aid bill) and by my count, there are 5,912 in all, with Labor at 1810, Transportation at 1548 and Commerce at 1515.
If you want to search for earmarks in your state, here is a little trick to find them more quickly: search by using comma, space, and the two letter abbreviation for your state.
Like for Florida, you would search for , FL - Georgia would be , GA - etc. I find that works quickly. The earmarks are in lengthy tables in the second half of the above files.
It is going to take a few days to comb through these bills to see what kind of extras in there, but here's just a few of the earmarks from the Transportation section of the bill:

Give me Barmey Frank’s or Schumer’s car that we make the payments for. Give me their homes as we have no Christmas because we have to save to pay the mortgage if we lose jobs.

I saw on article here the other day that they were voting on replenishing ACORN fully back to their normal billions of slush funds.
I have seen some tattoos that probably need to be removed, but that foreign aid needs to be removed much more.
