He has been a big suck up to Mitt the Twit since he had the revelation that "America's Mayor" was not going to get the 2008 nomination. Sean is all about "who you know and who you blow".
Freep Mitt and the socialist horse he rode in on.
ObamaCare = RomneyCare! Screw Mitt!!
Of course, but I was not addressing that. I was addressing the Democrat Party. We already know we need to clean up the Republican Party. That's not what I was talking about. The Democrat Party is a threat to the entire nation, even more than RINOs.
I am completely indifferent to what a rude name-calling nimrod such as yourself concludes about me ... or anyone or anything else. Go play in traffic, mud-throwing socialist lover.
Check out DU ... that’s where you belong with the rest of the socialists and fascists.
+1 to that, Jim.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. I hope your health is holding up.
Excuse me, Raider Sam, that is mistaken. Non-RINO Republicans like Palin and Rubio already face a drain on their resources fighting Democrats and the MSM. Guys like Romney further sap their resources because they also throw obstacles in their path. You are fooling yourself if you think Romney is just being a harmless little nobody. He's a LEECH on the resources of Republicans who understand the importance of bucking RINOs.
I have concluded after many years of observation that indeed, you have it backward. RINOs are a bigger threat to the nation than the Democrat party because unlike Democrats, RINOs can destroy from within the future hope and growth of the Republican party -- and that would be deadly because a small-government Republican party IS THE ONLY CHANCE WE HAVE of combatting and defeating the liberalism that makes the Democrat party so dangerous.
Again, LIBERALISM is the real enemy here -- not the Democrat party. LIBERALISM within the Republican party is a bigger long-term threat to our nation than liberalism in the Democrat party.
For the last time, you cannot advance and ideology without a party. I would use charts and graphs but this is simple. In this case, you are wrong, wrong, wrong. Just look at history and that tells you that a party must be behind the ideology.
Liberalism = Democrat Party.
But the Republican party MUST represent limited government ideology. It MUST contrast itself from the Democrat party ideology of an intrusive, enslaving government that will always take care of you. The Republican party must represent the ideology that government is our SERVANT, that it must be limited, that free markets and personal liberty must prevail.
It seems to me that what you're saying is that as long as the politician is registered "Republican," then that politician is better than a Democrat. But the truth is that a liberal big government Republian like Romney who would have us enslaved to intrusive government is WORSE than a liberal big government Democrat because that Republican sabotages the future hope of a party home for that ideology that you and I hold so dear.
No liberal enough I guess.
Not at all. RINOs destroyed the Republican Party. We need conservatives to take back the party. Absolutely. No question about it. In November of 2010, we need to rid ourselves of all things remotely aligned with socialism. We are in definite agreement there.
“Anyone pushing Romney must love socialism...Piss on Romney and his enablers!!” ~ Jim Robinson
It is customary when discussing another FReeper to at least ping them to your comment. I took the liberty of correcting your oversight.
Ah, I was waiting for that jewel to rear its head.
There’s nothing irrational about my hatred for abortion and socialism. Romney should try it.
That’s ok. Mormons always hate me.
I know one that doesn’t hate you. I am married to her. And she has no use for a socialist like Mitt.
Hooah.
I had a hunch we were! I wonder if you're in agreement with my wise ol' pop, who often says that it's a mistake to vote for the man. Better to vote for the philosophy -- the ideology, if you will. In that I am in definite agreement with you that an ideology must have a party. It's why I vote Republican ticket -- my dad has said that voting for a Republican president and then voting for Democrats in Congress is like hiring a carpenter but giving him only plumber's tools.
I must say, however, that after Schwarzenegger, I will no longer default to the Republican. Had McCain chosen as his running mate a Romney or similar big-intrusive-government RINO, my vote would have gone elsewhere. I learned quite a lot from Schwarzenegge, and will apply what I've learned: RINOs forfeit my vote from now on. They didn't used to -- but they do now; voting for them now is fulfilling Einstein's definition of insanity.
Thanks for a good discussion.
