Is it okay to be afraid now? We are 1 day away from the Senate ruining my Christmas and my life

I just saw that the Associated Press released an article entitled "Senate pushes toward passage of health bill" which worries me, troubles me, and should make me afraid. Afraid of what this is going to do to my Christmas and my life, as the Democrats work toward an 8 a.m. deadline on December 24th for all of us to cover the expenses of 30 million uninsured individuals.

You see, I'm a regular hard-working American. I'm also an insurance salesman, as well as a writer. I've been selling insurance longer than I've been writing articles, although I've been writing ever since I could hold a crayon to a wall.

As an American, I am already overtaxed on everything I buy and everything I do. I live in silent fear of the IRS who can do untold damage to me financially just because it wants to. I don't know how much more of this I can handle mentally or financially.

As a Christian, I hate the fact that the IRS demands more of my income than my God. When the checks come in, I automatically set aside a greater portion for mortal men I have never seen than an immortal God I hope to one day see. One threatens to put me in jail in if I don't pay up, the other promises eternal life either way but says 'please do me a favor and feed those who are hungry.'

As a healthy individual, I do not want my insurance premiums to skyrocket on me. I currently pay less than $80 per month because ...

Afraid of what this is going to do to my Christmas and my life

Take heart.
It's not over 'til it's over. And it's not over until it gets through conference and is voted on again in House and Senate.

The IRS oversight is one of the scariest aspects of this. The IRS is the bureaucracy the government uses when it “means business”.

The bill still has to go back to the House and then back to the Senate for the final vote.

I have a new tagline.

Conservative pundits need to push for a national movement to withhold taxes from the government. Individuals and businesses. If two million people are willing to go to jail over this, then no one will go to jail over this.

We need to stop our government.

It’s true there are not enough jail cels, but what they would do first is fine us $X and keep adding to it until they could put us in jail. They would take from our revenue streams (i.e. our mouths and families) and feel justified in doing so those #@%*!

What is the scenario I’ve been hearing ... could Nancy signal that the House is in favor of the Senate Bill, without conference, then is the Senate free to pass the Bill with a majority vote ... done deal?

There are three ways to affect political change. The first way is violence -- let's take that off the table for now. So, now there are two methods worth talking about:

1) Voting
2) Civil disobedience.

So, how's the voting working out? Not so good? Maybe we need to seek other methods.
Civil Disobedience? That's what I'm pushing for. But if "We the people" are afraid of getting fined, then civil disobedience is pretty useless as well, isn't it?

Did I say there were three ways to affect political change?

If nancypants get the house to go along with the senate bill unchanged, then its over with 60 votes. I think reconciliation is only for appropriations bills.

I guess I’m the only one not super-worried, because I believe that should this Frankenstein’s monster actually get signed into law, and pass the inevitable Supreme Court challenge, it will be such an enormous, economy-wrecking debacle that it will be to the Democrats what the unpopular Iraq War was to the GOP. I think it will be like Nixon’s wage and price control scheme that was abolished relatively quickly after it was clear to everybody how horrendous and idea it was.

Far from setting themselves up for a gravy train for life, the Dems are setting themselves up for massive failures at least in 2012, if not in 2010 (depends on how long it takes for things to play out).

Just picture how it looks when the health insurance premiums everybody is forced to buy skyrocket as a result of the risk-piling features of the same law? Imagine thousands, if not millions of Americans refusing to buy this health insurance, burning their $750 fine notices like draft cards, hospitals and clinics rationing out care because there aren’t enough doctors, huge lines just for simple operations, the government not able to borrow enough money to pay for it all, etc.

It will be so bad, and so embarrassing, so fast that it will be repealed. It won’t be like socialized medicine in the UK or Canada that was enacted at a time when health care was relatively cheap, and people had decades to get used to the convenience of it. No, it’ll be awful from day one. Americans won’t stand for it.

I wholeheartedly agree that it is time for us as conservatives to stand up to our govt. It is time for us small business owners to stand up and refuse to cut those quarterly checks. I’m begging other small business owners to join me and not pay their taxes. It is time that we show our gov who is really in charge. Without out money they are NOTHING. 1 business owner cannot do this on his own. We have to band together. The IRS can punish one of us but they don’t have a prayer in prosecuting millions of us.

Don’t you believe it. Mess with their money, and the government *will* find a cell for you.

Ask Irwin Schiff.

What is your take ... given the current climate, do you think Harry and Nancy would seal the deal tomorrow?

This household has been terrified of this all year. It has taken its toll on well-being, just the thought of it.

The household is coming around though because...they WANT you afraid. They WANT you to know that you’re under their jack boot. They WANT you to know that they can off you like a gnat.

Fear leads to fury. Fury, to resolve.

It’s a dreadful time of year to so despise and hate your enemies that you turn your backs on many, but I have. Now, it’s for keeps. So, the 0bot relatives will just have to wander off to la-la-landmines, and the others who itch for a fight will just have to meet steely eyes and attitude of fuggetaboutit. Because now, it’s us against even the law and representatives we pay, those who are all too happy to issue us a merry deathmass. At least our military WILL stand with us, unless 0bama makes sure they’re not here or dead—because these guys are OUR sons & daughters, not his.

Once you go beyond the door of maintaining your respect and willingness to live by the rules of society, you need to remember to wear steel-toed boots and take the lay of the land 1st. We are now in undiscovered country, where survival skills matter. Each of us could be a James Bond or a civilian SEAL irregular. No one will ever know, nor must they.

There may come a time when the US no longer exists, except in the hearts and minds of those of us who knew who knew her. And that idea ignites real will. Americans will not die on their knees.

All of this is hypothetical and is just a play idea. You know? No one here seriously thinks our own government will be out to kill us off, one by one, or, in groups of race/creed/age/zip code, now, do we?

Barack is going to coopt December 25th as a pagan government holiday that will be celebrated by the Left in lieu of Christmas. I just can hear him saying that there is NOW real meaning to that date. The holiday that wasn’t “inclusive” is now inclusive thanks to the government taking over health care. That there is NOW “peace” for those who had the burden of medical costs relieved of them.

I can’t see how it could possibly happen that fast, but these days it seems anything goes. It would require immediate capitulation by all of the pro public option and anti abortion congresscritters.

It would not surprise me if this were a done deal tomorrow.

Some words to live by and to hold onto in the days ahead:

Galatians 6:7-10

7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
