Fort Hood Terrorist E-mailed Cleric To Ask If He Could Kill Fellow Soldiers
FOX/CBS/MEMRI/The Lid ^ | 12/24/09 | The Lid

Anwar Al-'Awlaki, al Qaeda linked Muslim Cleric on his contact with the Fort Hood Terrorist Major Hasan:

"Naturally, as I told you, the first message was asking for an edict regarding the [possibility] of a Muslim soldier killing his colleagues who serve with him in the American army. In other messages, Nidal was clarifying his position regarding the killing of Israeli civilians. He was in support of this, and in his messages he mentioned the religious justifications for targeting the Jews with missiles. Then there were some messages in which he asked for a way through which he could transfer some funds to us [and by this] participate in charitable activities."

When it was first reported that Fort Hood Terrorist was corresponding with al Qaeda Cleric Anwar Al-'Awlaki, investigators said it all seemed like part his psychological research duties. Last night Arab Network Aljazeera.net posted an interview with the cleric that seemed to dispute that assumption (Aljazeera only posted the interview on its Arabic site so we only have parts of the interview). Anwar Al-'Awlaki faulted American foreign policy for creating the conditions which ignited the rampage in which 13 were killed, Coincidentally it was reported this morning that Anwar Al-'Awlaki was killed in an air strike in Yemen, but now that report is disputed

Great.

Most normal people have to wade through bureaucracy to get a government form filled out.

These lunatics have to deal with bureaucracy to find out if they can get a fatwa (ruling) to kill infidels. It must be so annoying for them to have to make sure they don’t break any islamofascist laws.

Nice.

The Yemenis reported this.

BTW, Awlaki is/was a former imam of mosques in Denver, San Diego and Falls Church, Virginia.

It could be the Yemenis are anxious to avoid the negative implications of their harboring this POS. But who knows.

The other imam at the same Falls Church mosque was Ali A. Timimi. He is an American born of Iraqi parents who is currently serving an unusually long prison sentence.

He was involved in the anthrax investigation but this is seldom reported in the press. He is better known for being the spiritual guide of the Paintball Cell.

Do we trust the Yemanis to tell the truth?

Do you trust the US Govt., i.e.: FBI, to tell you the truth about the contents of his emails?

The US Govt., i.e.: FBI, says his emails contained only discussions about religious questions and did not contain anything about jihadi activities.

As I read this thread, I wonder. Did Obama order Anwar al Awlaki killed in order to remove a dangerous terrorist? Or did he order him killed to remove a potentially dangerous witness to a coverup?

The FBI knew that Hasan had asked him about whether it would be OK to shoot his fellow soldiers, but did nothing about it? We already knew that they failed to respond to suspicious activities well before the shootings, but this is really unbelievable.

As I recall, three of the 9/11 hijackers attended Awlaki’s mosque, two of them in Virginia at the same time that Hasan attended it, and one earlier at a different mosque.

What did the FBI know, and when did they know it? What does Obama know, and what is he covering up?

Not just the 9/11 hijackers. At least one of the London 7/7 bombers, Mohammad Sidique Khan, is alleged to have attended the Falls church mosque too.

He was allegedly in email contact with Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, who received 30 years for plotting to assassinate Bush.

Ali al Timimi/Tamimi wasn't a formal imam at Dar al Hijrah- he was a speaker there. Dar al Hijrah was Imam Anwar Aulaqi's mosque. Ali al Timimi, according to the local muslims, had tried to take over Dar al Hijrah but failed, and instead led a group of followers [the paintball cell] across town to form another mosque called Dar al Arqam Center for Islamic Information.

Dar al Arqam also served as the offices of two islamic "charities" which are listed as front organizations for terrorist groups. After Timimi's conviction the rest of the people associated with him abandoned the mosque.

Timimi was also an activist at George Mason University.
