Nearly 75,000 jobs gone in a week. That many jobs support a much larger population.

This is equivalent to losing an entire medium sized city’s worth of jobs, like Corpus Christi TX or Jackson MS.

The hopeychangey has not twigged to the fact that what he is doing is shredding the economic fabric of the nation.

My boss call all 5 of us together yesterday morning to let us know we were being furloughed until he could find more work. He didn't paint a very bright picture for the future.
In one year with Obama, I'm worse off now than I have been in 32 years since Jimmy Carter cost me my job.

Don't worry folks. There will be plenty of jobs for us in chain gangs building and fixing roads everywhere. They want to put more money into road construction. /end sarc

This news will present a very interesting backdrop (along with the Brown election) to the lies Obama will try to peddle during his SOTU address.

When he smiles and tries to brag about all he's done, America will know the truth about all the families struggling because Obama will not take the action necessary to put our country back on solid economic footing.

Obama's spin, and we all know he will speak from an alternate universe, will be punctured by these very powerful events.

I thought Obama said Caterpillar would be hiring once the stimulus got going??? Don't forget Wallmart's cuts yesterday

How short sighted, you outsource good paying Manufacturing jobs and who is going to keep the rest of the economy going?? Eventually it hits everyone.. this is the double dip.. less middle class jobs..drop in property values and fewer consumers .. so fewer service jobs and around and around we go

Yes he has. And it is by design.

ROCHESTER, MN (KTTC-DT) — Just four days after a new contract agreement between cab manufacturer Crenlo and its employees, there’s some unfortunate news for workers.

The president of the union that represents Crenlo employees, David Zebaugh, says 33 employees will be laid off.

Me too. The article is dated January 26, 2009 but the comments are from today. I'm guessing that USN&WR's website just goofed on the date.

Actually, if gov't actually spent more of the stimulus on this, I'd be behind it. At least we'd have something to show for our money afterwards.

Better than blowing 700 billion on grants for make-work studies.
