What is a Progressive? (and why they should scare you) Part 1
Uncommon Sense (davegj13.wordpress.com) ^ | January 28, 2010 | none stated

So what is a “progressive” and what is my beef with them? For the answer you must look at American history beginning in the early 1900’s.

“Progressivism” is a reform movement that began in the 1890’s and has remained active to this day. At times it has had a lower profile but it has been an active force in American politics for over 100 years.

The American “progressive movement” was originally led by “intellectuals and social reformers” (aka the elite) seeking to address the economic, political, and cultural issues which had resulted from the rapid growth/industrialization of the country as well as the growth of modern capitalism. The Progressives believed then as they do today, that this rapidly changing society required the establishment of a “new order”. Woodrow Wilson, Theodore Roosevelt, Herbert Croly, John Dewey and Charles Merriam were early political leaders of the movement.

Progressives don’t always agree on how to solve problems but generally they agree government must be actively involved at every level of society to drive reform. They also agree the existing constitutional system is antiquated. They believe it must become a dynamic, evolving instrument of social change, aided by scientific knowledge and the development of administrative bureaucracy.

Some of the first changes the early progressives made were; the direct elections of Senators, the open primary, the initiative and referendum. To drive the desired societal change through the government there was a need for more revenue which resulted in the 16th Amendment and individual progressive income tax.

Progressives are elitists – their vision was to use the Presidency to provide the direction and the vision to drive the evolution of a progressive government.

“Progressivism” -> The act of elected liberal politicians progressively taking more and more money from the citizens that pay taxes and giving that money to those that don't.

I've put together the "best" background links I could find on this subject and posted them last week. We'd all better get a BETTER handle on this stuff ... it is dangerous and worth spending the time to read background materials.

It is an amazing long list of Traitors.

Thinking about adding a Column to my Congressional Score Card to indicate this membership. Suspect there will be a high level of correlation for voting on the insane legislation.

Definition of Progressive

Progressive: Increasing in scope or severity. Advancing. Going forward. In medicine, a disease that is progressive is going from bad to worse

************************************************************************************

That’s the thing with progressivism - it’s one direction leads directly to the grave - no passing Go, so to speak.

A Liberal (Progressive) is a closet Communist, A Marxist is coming out of the closet, A Communist is out of the closet trying to push you in.

Some of the first changes the early progressives made were; the direct elections of Senators, the open primary, the initiative and referendum. To drive the desired societal change through the government there was a need for more revenue which resulted in the 16th Amendment and individual progressive income tax.

There was a progressive movement several decades before the 1890s and these reformers were responsible for socialist, taxpayer paid for, government schooling.

All of the above was within one to two generations of children attending socialist modeled government schooling.

Please think about this.

The moment a child steps foot in a government school he learns that the government has **POWER**! The government has the police threat power to take money from his neighbor to pay for a service his parents want for tuition-free. He does this day after day. And....His teachers reinforce the idea that it is his **right** to expect free services paid for by his neighbor.

Do this day after day, year after year, and the result is a child who literally **KNOWS** that the voting mob can also has the power to take money from his neighbor to pay, not only for schooling, but thousands of other socialist programs as well.

Within three generations of socialist government schooling we also had FDR's New Deal ( elected FOUR TIMES!), Johnson's Great Society, the abolishment of the gold standard, the U.N, the Department of Education, and a few thousand other socialist programs and offices.

Government schools are an abomination. Yet I am amazed at how many conservatives fail to understand that government schools can not be reformed. They must be abolished.

Scratch a liberal and under his thin skin is a socialist. Dig a little deeper and you soon find the Marxist nuclear fuel rod that drives everything he says and does.

Or....

It is like a one way train. Each station is merely one more socialist program. The destination is and always has been: COMMUNISM!

IMO, they should have already been tried in court for treason & "lined up against the wall". They have been working on this coup for decades. What do you think Obama mean when he said his Administration is about to transform America???
