Perhaps unqualified to suggest (non-resident), but BNSF headquarters is in Fort WeirdWorth. They may have openings in marketing or publicity depts.

They are, by far, the best Class-1 Railroad in this country, and they are MAKING MONEY.

I'd consider going to work for BNSF, if I didn't have to move to a place where it's routinely 110 degrees F in the summer.

Texas is more than just Dallas, Houston. It is 800 plus miles north to south and the same east to west. How far would 800 miles get you out of Chicago? That’s what you are looking at in Texas.

You’ll find regions varying from the Piney Woods of east Texas, 300 plus miles of the Gulf Coast, Hill Country, Big Bend, Prairies/Lakes, Plains, etc. Each area offers different perspectives for you to enjoy depending upon your taste. People will be friendly but attitudes/customs may vary depending upon the norm for that region.

You mention Houston and Dallas. The Houston area is the 4th largest in the US with some 4+ million people. Dallas/Fort Worth would be smaller and a total different feeling/makeup. If you had time it may be to your advantage to spend some time just browsing around the state.

Good luck.

Look at the lower right corner by Louisiana.
Harris and Jefferson counties (and usually Orange county as well)
Note the color key. Blue - McLame / Red - Mr. Dunham
Do not move behind enemy lines unless you have to. It's a beautiful area, just very liberal.
I've lived here in SE Texas and the Golden Triangle all of my life and the area has been Democrat the whole time, though things are slowly, yet definitely, changing.

As we say in Fort Worth, “Life’s too short to live in Dallas.”
