The founders wanted citizens to be representatives of the government. They wanted citizens to serve one or two terms and then have a new citizen come and serve.
I think Sarah Palin has the qualities that George Washington needed to be President.
BIOGRAPHY OF GEORGE WASHINGTON
George Washington may have attended a school near his home for the first few years. Later he went to another school, either in Fredericksburg, Stafford County, or Westmoreland County. He excelled in mathematics and learned the rudiments of surveying. But he was not taught Latin or Greek like many gentlemen's sons, and he never learned a foreign language. Nor did he attend college. His formal education ended around the age of 15.
His older brother Lawrence died in 1752, and shortly thereafter George inherited Mount Vernon. He also obtained Lawrence's place in the Virginia Militia and received a major's commission -- the first step in his military career.
George Washington spent the years between 1759 and 1775 as a gentleman farmer at Mount Vernon. He worked constantly to improve and expand the mansion house and its surrounding plantation. He established himself as an innovative farmer, who switched from tobacco to wheat as his main cash crop in the 1760's. In an effort to improve his farming operation, he diligently experimented with new crops, fertilizers, crop rotation, tools, and livestock breeding. He also expanded the work of the plantation to include flour milling and commercial fishing in an effort to make Mount Vernon a more profitable estate.
In June 1775, Congress commissioned George Washington to take command of the Continental Army besieging the British in Boston. He wrote home to Martha that he expected to return safe to her in the fall. The command kept him away from Mount Vernon for more than 8 years.
It was a command for which his military background, although greater than that of any of the other available candidates, hardly prepared him. His knowledge lay in frontier warfare, involving relatively small numbers of soldiers. He had no practical experience maneuvering large formations, handling cavalry or artillery, or maintaining supply lines adequate to support thousands of men in the field. He learned on-the-job; and although his army reeled from one misfortune to another, he had the courage, determination, and mental agility to keep the American cause one step ahead of complete disintegration until he figured out how to win the unprecedented revolutionary struggle he was leading. Washington had little conventional military education to discard. In an unconventional conflict, he learned from experiences that perplexed and frustrated his opponents.

He administered the government with fairness and integrity, assuring Americans that the President could exercise extensive executive authority without corruption. Further, he executed the laws with restraint, establishing precedents for broad-ranging presidential authority. "His integrity was most pure", Thomas Jefferson wrote, "his justice the most inflexible I have ever known, no motive of interest or consanguinity, friendship, or hatred, being able to bias his decision."

Experiences such as hunting, fishing, gardening, playing team sports, being a student that graduated from college, bachelor's degree in journalism, television sports reporter, wife, mother, mayor, chaired the Alaska’s Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, Governor, and first Republican woman Vice Presidential candidate.
She did all these things and her critics say, "she not smart enough." So, all the people who hired her, voted for her, worked with her, did it because she wasn’t smart enough! Her experiences of just being a woman and doing what she has done, makes her smart enough!
Some people think she is not smart enough ... they think that no woman is smart enough.
Neither Obama nor Hillary Clinton can match her experiences and no one in politics today can match her in the most important qualities that Jefferson said George Washington had.

I agree, great points...and as far as growing her knowledge she is doing it on exactly the right curve, perfect timimg. She will be so underestimated and blow everybody away in the debates in 2011, 2012. I had my doubts that dhe was running. Those doubts are toast.

She's been living rent free in liberal heads for 1.5 years, and every time she speaks or writes, their heads explode.
While this is entertaining, the damage being done to the USA by this communist regime is not funny. Sarah is the only person effectively countering the communist moves. As such, she is currently the front-runner for the next presidential opening, and I believe she will win.
She is a “Hot Chick”, how could she possibly have any brains?

She for sure has more gonads that the pompous ass we have in there now and even after Zero being there a year, I am sure she has more executive experience than him. He has been too busy traveling and looking in the mirror to learn anything. Anyway he knew it all already..HA.
If you think they are calling her dumb now, wait till she is President, and it will get really really bad in her second term. And when she leaves office wildly popular with the economy booming, federal government greatly reduced, taxes cut, military strengthened, and American pride as high as it has ever been, they will declare her the dumbest president of all time.

Yes, she’s smart enough but who gives a crap about “smart”. We need COMMON SENSE. We need someone who upholds our Constitution.. An American, unlike Obama. If Reagan wasn’t as “smart” as Obama, I’ll take Reagan. If Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Joe Biden are “smart” enough to be in their positions, then Sarah qualifies with more to spare!

- Sarah Palin's life experience, including her time as mayor and as governor, prepare her adequately if not excellently for the challenges of leadership, and
- Sarah Palin has, as she herself put it, "a servant's heart." That is, she wants the country to prosper, in contradistinction to Mr. Obama who wants people who like him - and especially people who look like him - to prosper at the expense of those who do not.
They said the same thing about Ronald Reagan and He out smarted the Russians!!!
After the 3 queers died in Obama's church, a nothing nobody became a genius and was elected POTUS in a landslide. Kennedy was in for life just for driving off a bridge drunk. Course some are dumber than others. It took a few dozen deaths for Clinton to rise to the level needed for true power.
If Sarah decides to run for POTUS, Tod should watch his back. IMHO, being able to shoot, field dress, and then cook a moose is probably close enough for POTUS knowledge. Osama should be afraid she will shoot and butcher him and marinate his backstrap to feed the dogs. For years I pined for a woman like Margret Thatcher to be elected in the US. Sarah is close enough for me.
She could just default to vetoing everything for 4 years and we would probably win our wars, balance the budget and have a chicken in every pot.
Common sense ? Integrity would be good.
She would make a good Vice President.
I don’t care if she’s a woman—not that big of deal nowadays with women equally stressed-out as CEO’s, Senators, Governors, etc. (I’m so over people voting for skin pigment and sex organs—it’s time to move on humans.)
But, let’s face it, she does not speak well. I get nervous whenever I watch her in interviews. She might be “book smart” but she doesn’t appear to be all that thoughtful, IMHO.
I have felt this way since she came on the scene, but her endorsement of Perry killed-it for me.
I certainly hope she does not run for POTUS.

At this point I’ll remain neutral until the primary debates.
I admit initially I was 100% for McCain’s VP pick because I had heard great things about her prior to that. But since then it’s been all downhill.
I am impressed about the way she draws crowds but outside of that I’ll wait.
So far, I feel my small town mayor here in Texas is very unqualified for POTUS and if she can’t take the mudslinging in Alaska with a population smaller than most cities how in God’s name do you think she’ll handle the vultures in DC.
Why don't you go do some research on the situation she faced in Alaska with being willfully prevented from doing her job before making dumb comments like this.

Here’a a question for ya - she excepts 100K & says she’ll turn it back over yet flip flops & backs Perry over Medina, McLaim over Hayworth, stays away from Brown & on & on it goes.

BTW, just because I support her for President doesn’t mean I agree with all her endorsements (I didn’t agree with all of President Reagan’s, starting with Sandra Day O’Connor, or his unfortunate choice of the liberal Sen. Schweiker from PA as his ‘76 running mate or picking Bush in ‘80 over, say, NV’s Paul Laxalt). I vehemently disagree with her endorsement of McCain, and in KY of Junior Paul over Trey Grayson.
As for the TX endorsement, she’d have to be crazy to back a second Paulbot. Medina has no qualifications or experience to be Governor of the second largest state in the country and would lose to Bill White in the general. I detest Perry (not as much as I detest KBH, who needs to retire from the Senate), but he’s a helluva lot less riskier. Lastly, she also took the best route in staying out of the MA race. You go where you’re needed and stay out of where you’re not, that’s smart politics.
