Who Will Lead?

OK. I enjoyed the Glenn Beck speech at CPAC as much as any I've listened to in a long time - maybe since Rush Limbaugh's speech there last year. But that's the problem. I'm waiting for a real leader to emerge who push these ideas forward. Someone who understands that the political establishment is ripping us off for their own gain. But the only leaders stepping up are radio and TV personalities.

Maybe the blogger should step up and lead. Besides, isn’t that what the Tea Party movement is all about?

You clearly have not been following the Pete Schiff/Rand Paul campaigns in Connecticut and Kentucky

You want government reduced? Those are the 2 men to support

In the immigration movement, we call him "Touchback Pence" who tried to foist a sham amnesty on us. I don't trust him.

Only Nixon Could Go to China, and Only Pence Could Sell Amnesty to the House

I can find something to disagree with everyone of them on, find one you agree with 100%. Good Luck.

If we have an amnesty, this country will be destroyed with the stroke of a pen. It is game, set, and match for the US of A. Everything else is just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic

Some issues are more important than others. I am not asking for perfection. However, if you believe, like I do, that supporting amnesty will destroy this country, how can I vote for someone who is advocating it?

It is obvious that many of those that seem Conservative are easily swayed by the enemy.

Why do we need a leader? This is America, a free country. All politics is local; that’s where I live.

Why has organized resistance failed in the USA?

http://www.etresoi.ch/Denis/disorganisation.html

Disorganized movements rely upon swarming. Swarms are difficult to defend against. If you cut a swarm in half, you have two swarms. If you eliminate one of the resulting swarms, you still have a swarm. Disorganization breeds. Organization grows. The many and dispersed are a more difficult target than the large and concentrated.

That was 2006, I will wait for something current before bashing Pence. I have no idea at this point about who I will vote for, but I like Mike and he is leading.

Fine. I wouldn’t vote for “Touchback Pence” because I couldn’t trust him regardless of whether he changed his position or not.

“Why do we need a leader? This is America, a free country. All politics is local; that’s where I live.”

Your are right.

When folks ask about the Tea Party Movement needing a leader... I wonder if the ever actually read threads on FR. If they like Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck... They should know by now that neither of these people advocate a leader for the movement, and do not wish to be a leader themselves.

Now, we can lead by example, and that is a different thing. Glenn Beck is leading by example. I’d argue that Jim DeMint is leading by example. He’s not trying to make himself a self-appointed leader.

I ask you, stop looking for a “head” for the movement. Instead, lead yourself, lead by example, pay attention to and learn form others who are doing the same.

I think the Tea Party Movement is more of a fellowship than a hierarchy, and it should remain so.

I’ve been a registered Libertarian for years, and I am about to register as a Republican. Along with millions of others, I am going to help the GOP back to its Constitutional principles.

Trust yourself enough to lead yourself. I suggest you lead yourself in to your Local GOP. I think You’ll find other people leading themselves there, also.

Why do we NEED a 'Leader'? I know the MSM is all obsessed with this, but aren't we supposed to be about doing for ourselves, as much as possible?

When the time for the Presidential primary comes, we'll be able to choose one among the many candidates to be our Presidential candidate, and, we hope, the next President. In the meantime, why don't we just live our lives the way we SAY we want the country to be, contacting our Congressional representatives OFTEN, when we believe they are NOT representing us, and the majority of folks out here.

We should support amnesty -

Illegal immigrants can have 90 days in which to leave America, they will not be stopped or arrested.

Employers have 90 days in which to make sure that everyone working for them has a legal work visa or is a citizen and their papers are not bogus.

State and local Governments has 90 days to ensure that all programs which is funded by federal funds have verified that no illegal alien is receiving benefits.

After 90 days is up, any one caught employeeing or harboring or ignoring immigration status will be prosecuted and the illegal immigrant will be promptly deported.

What do you mean by a “real leader”? Yet another career politician? No thanks! Enough of anointed priesthoods. There wasn’t one leader at the time of the American Revolution, there were many.

All good points but still, there will be a next president and political leaders in the Congress and if some really good people don’t seek or gain the posts, then the vacuum will be filled by the corrupt, lying, progressives we’ve been subjected to of late.

One must from a practical standpoint also remember that the President is the Commander-in-Chief and look what happens when you put a rookie and an ideologue in that post.
