Oh, God forbid! I have been a conservative all my life, following in the tradition and example of my family. I have developed a strong knack for identifying true conservatives, and Beck isn't a conservative.
Beck is an opportunist who capitalizes on people's anger and lampoons Republicans and Democrats as being the same, oversimplifying the political dynamics to the point that wise decision making is impossible. Would a 60 seat GOP majority US Senate have passed Obama's stimulus bill? Would a 80 seat GOP majority House have passed the healthcare bill? Of course not, and pretending that they would isn't productive. This mentality promotes a third party idea, which will benefit Obama and the Democrats in the next election.
If you want to hear a true conservative, listen to Rush or Mark Levin. They lift people's spirits and promote and unify conservatives and conservative ideals.

All Beck has to do is have Levin on his show, call him the “Great One” and plug his book and Glenn will get to be in the club.

And one of life’s little ironies is that Firing Line was on public television, funny how one of the bete noires of conservatives propagated conservative thought in an intellectually redmeat manner on one of the longest running shows in American television, apart from Julia Child ;>
