I must say for a certified forensics expert this guy is clearly a danger to himself and others.

Best regards,

“I must say for a certified forensics expert this guy is clearly a danger to himself and others. “

And what else did you expect from a system wherein the Judge, the Prosecution, and the defense, all consider themselves “Brothers In The Law”?

Had I had to deal with the “expert”, my question would be “Which country allows such a gun on elephant hunts?”

What an embarrassment for CNN. Is this type of silly ignorance typical of their reporting?

The bug-eyed fool interviewing him says something like, "Wow! That's unbelievable! I mean this is the kind of gun I guess you'd use if you were trying to aim and really hit something!"

No s**t, Sherlock. That's the whole point of a gun.

With a 19” barrel and a 5.56 mm NATO round, not my idea of an “elephant gun.” What a stupid, imprecise term anyway. Just what does it mean to be an “elephant gun?” Just want to inflame emotions of the un-informed I guess.

For CNN and MSNBC, this is about as good as it gets. Surprising they even brought in and named an "expert." Usually they just use vague references to experts, reports, etc. They actually bothered to dig up this idiot...

This was being discussed over on AR15.com. General consensus is that this guy is a complete moron.

Worse, this lying FRAUD should be enough reason, all by himself, for retrials in all 300 cases he was supposedly an "expert witness" for.

Yeah...bear hunting with a .223, YEAH...!

Never have I heard a guy stretch soooo little knowledge so far. He’s just slapping on a confidence voice to paper over his thin knowlege.

It doesn’t work at all.

And are we to believe that 3,000 fps is some really unusual ballistic velocity? Very average, in fact.

The interviewer was also an idiot.

He states, “I won’t get into the math and physics of it all, just here...”, implying that he COULD do so in great detail, if he wanted to.

In fact, he CAN’T. All he does is point out that downrange the velocity of a bullet does, in fact, diminish —BIIIG DEAL.

He also shows off his head-spinning math skills by averaging 2,200 fps and 3,700 fps —BLEW MY SOCKS OFF, he did... /sarc

3000 fps does not come anywhere close to equally 2500 mph.

This lying lunatic is why good people some times go to jail...

When I was at Southern Miss in the late 80’s there was a big push to ban assault rifles. All the media were pushing it.

One of the local TV stations had on a Hattiesburg Cop. They were interviewing him as an expert on firearms. One statement he made immediately showed him to know nothing of what he was saying.

He said the AR-15 could not be used for hunting because if you hit a deer with that cartridge there would be nothing left to eat.

Yes he really did say it.

questioner: Have you read XX?

Me: “Not in English.”

He tries to mask his ignorance with a swooning, panicked, overwrought delivery.

He'd do the same thing with a .22 short. "The bullet is typically LEAD! LEAD!!! That's an element more dense and massive than iron!!! It's essentially depleted uranium!!!! Uranium is what destroyed Hiroshima!!!!! The bullet EXPLODES from the barrel three times faster than a Boeing 747 at TAKEOFF!!!!"
