Exposing the the Teabaggers (Some Latinos crying "racism" over Tea Parties)[Hurl-tastic]
Vivir Latino ^ | March 2, 2010 | Maegan la Mamita Mala

In many ways I’m still a 12 year old girl and the fact that this teabagger campaign has grown such scary wings makes me laugh and shake my head a little. As the United States moves toward mid-term elections and there is pushing from various directions on issues ranging from health reform to immigration, teabaggers are getting more and more attention. Some of the attention is undeserved, like when they are spreading lies on the role of Latino immigrants in the U.S. Some of the attention is deserved, like when good people are calling them out.

(VIDEO AT LINK)

The good peeps over at Cuéntame used some parts of their interview with me a few weeks ago as a preview to a new campaign against the Teabaggers.

Over 600 people gathered for the first ever Tea Party Convention in Nashville, Tennessee on February of 2010. The ‘teabaggers’ reveled as they sat there listening to hateful speech after hateful speech by Tom Tancredo and Sarah Palin among others. The rhetoric was display of incoherent intolerance and racism:

* “Immigrants are taking over the United States, they must be sent to where they came from” * “This is our nation and we should take it back” * “Make English America’s official language” * “Congress loves Illegals”

It is no coincidence that these hate rallies are getting more media coverage than the immigration rallies of 2006, which drew millions to the streets to protest a proposed federal crackdown on illegal immigration.

A new series by the project Cuéntame is aimed at exposing “teabaggers’” true colors. It features the racist speeches, violent words, and actions, so that we can see for ourselves weather the Tea Party truly represents a legitimate movement or if is just another example of the intolerance and discrimination Latinos face in today’s society. The project also prompts the community to organize and to unite in an effort to fight back.

PS : As soon as this video was posted last week, VivirLatino has come under more scrutiny from the teabaggers, so just keep you eyes and ears open.

Nobody cares about immigrants.

We care about ILLEGALS.

Come in this country legally, and you’ll be welcome with open arms.

Come in illegally, and bring your third world anarchy and lawlessness with you, and of course we’re going to object.

They, of course, provide not one shred of evidence, just accusations.

It's the seriousness of the charge that matters./s/

I went to a Tea Party in Houston, and one of attendees was a young hipanic boy with a sign that said

"T.E.A.: Texans Exterminate Acorn".

I don't think I could have gotten away with that, but it warmed my heart to see him with that sign!

“The leader of our tea party here in NJ is a Hispanic. She’s actually a patriotic American of Hispanic descent.”

Hispanics who came here legally are some of the most anti illegal immigrants we have.

People are not racist because they are sick and tired of the government forcing them to fork over their hard earned cash to support illegal immigrants. It is a call for justice.

&&&
Now, there you go presenting a logical argument. How racist of you!

Note from one of those dreaded ‘anti illegal alien’ groups:

Most minorities think immigration is too high. Let Governor Schwarzenegger know that you agree.(and the rest of the squatter support squad)
Many of our politicians are afraid to support enforcement of our immigration laws. They fear a voter backlash because ethnic advocacy groups call for increased immigration and amnesty for illegal aliens.

Yet a Zogby survey on immigration done for the Center for Immigration Studies found that Hispanic, Asian-American, and African-American voters support enforcement of our laws and want illegal immigrants to return home.******* In fact, 56 percent of Hispanics, 57 percent of Asian-Americans, and 68 percent of African-Americans think immigration is too high.*******

You can see the poll here.

“Tom Tancredo tonight on Denver KOA radio talking about how much crime in America is commited by illegals who were in the system and released to go on to commit further crimes. Rape, murder, drugs, and on and on, released insted of deported. Not only Denver but in every sanctuary city in the country. Some of them admitted to being M13, but released anyway. Made me cry. Gov. Bill Ritter of CO. was district attorney of Denver who released most of them here.”

One of the squatter support squad will jump in this thread to tell you that USA American Citizens also commit these crimes...well, yes, they do.

But that’s an apples and oranges comparison. In the 10 years I’ve been looking hard at this problem, there have been THREE cases of ‘immigrants’ being killed by US citizens. THREE. Thousands of us have died at their hands.
THAT is the logical comparison.

PS...if you can find more crimes against aliens (other than being committed by their own kind) , post them. I haven’t had anyone able to do it yet.
