FRiends, I just learned yesterday that an old school friend of mine, Adam Light, from Tazewell, Virginia, in the Commonwealth's 9th District is running for the GOP nomination to take on notorious, double-dealing, smooth-talking liberal Congressman Rick Boucher. He is currently running against five other relatively weak GOP candidates, with the front-runner being a "good ol' boy," next-in-line professional GOP hack who doesn't even live in the district.
Adam is a strong Conservative, a committed Constitutionalist, a Christian family man, and a hard-working land surveyor (primarily in the coal industry) by trade. Perhaps most importantly, he is one of us!
His candidacy is part of the growing nationwide rebellion against the professional political class currently stinking up both Washington and the country as a whole.
Therefore, he is stepping forward to seek the nomination and challenge both the GOP establishment and Boucher and to help pull this country back away from the abyss to the rock-solid principles of free-market economics, limited government, and citizen representation in Congress, as intended by the Framers.
If you have a Facebook account, please join him in his campaign by becoming a fan of his page, and visiting his website below. He's going to need all the help he can get in beating both the GOP establishment in Virginia and Boucher, but it CAN be done, starting HERE at Free Republic.

BUMP.
I’d love to see Light knock off Momma’s boy Boucher. Boucher is a huge embarrassment to the area.
As per your request, I have pinged those on my SW Va list
We need to rid the scourge of Rick Boucher
Boucher BUMP!
Adam light would be an excellent choice for the Republican Party. He-who-shall-remain-nameless-because-he-lives-outside-the-district is too far removed from coal country, which is at the heart of Boucher’s electoral strength. One aspect of this that is encouraging — last election, the Republicans couldn’t find anyone to run against Rick; how they’re lining up for the nomination. There will also be at least one independent candidate, who may peel off some of the conservative vote, so the Republicans need to choose the strongest candidate, and not someone who is a party good-ole-boy.
Bump!
He-who-shall-remain-nameless is already soliciting votes from the delegates in my county. (All 55 of us.)
Hopefully, said delegates realize that nominating him will be a huge boost for Boucher.
I like Carrico, but he’s already been beaten once before, and also suffers from being too far removed from Boucher’s coalfields power base. Compare Kilgore, who has been beating Boucher in early trial run polls — he’s from coal country. Folks out this way will NOT vote for a come-here they never saw or met before the campaigning began.
Who is the guy from Tazwell? I liked him.
Oh, It’s Light.. Sorry. My bad. I don’t think he said his name this morning when he spoke and he was just a bit late to the meeting so we didn’t meet him in advance.
He understands constitutional principles, and his allocated time was short, but he didn’t say much about what he would do.
I also liked David Moore. He actually seemed to have a solid grasp of what the job entails and has a solid military background (something we need more of).
If you’d like to hear David Moore again or call in to ask him a question he will be on the “Radio Active” radio talk show Tuesday 3/23/10 at 9:30. That’s on AM 1440/1470 . You can also e-mail him from his website:
