Say Goodbye to Mitt Romney
BILL PASCOE ^ | 26 MARCH 2010 | BILL PASCOE

Posted on 03/27/2010 6:03:01 AM PDT by Extremely Extreme Extremist

Mitt Romney had his chance, and he blew it.

He was given the opportunity to establish himself as the Leader of the Republican Party on what has become the defining issue between the nation's two major political parties, and, in the process, solidify his position as the front-running candidate for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination; but rather than showing the intelligence, cunning, and courage necessary to take ownership of the issue, he showed none, and blew it.

All he had to do was say six simple words, words Americans love to hear: "I was wrong. I am sorry."

I find alot in him that I like. HIs health care ended up vastly different than what he signed due to the democratic legislature...

But let’s get beyond this can’t we? We fielded the worst candidate in John McCain.

Let’s hope that Obama will give us another Reagan...like Carter did...

He never had a chance, anyway. He can’t carry the south east, so he can’t win a republican election - or even make it through the primary. He’s a mormon - and like it or not - we don’t accept mormons as christians.

Anyone notice how Mit and RINO Newt are all fired up to repeal it. After Newt screwed us on NY-23.

I like Sarah but McCain is 10X worse than Mitt. She should not be helping McCain. McCain is a democrat trojan horse.

Sometimes I wonder if posting photos like that one is doing Sarah Palin any favors.

Do pics like these fit the image of leaders like the always dignified (in public) Margaret Thatcher.....women who are considered to be serious entrants and partipants in the world stage?

I assume the biker and leather crowd here will pant "you betcha!"

It’s not hard to see or feel that there’s been an official
‘push’ on for Romney, issuing forth from those quarters who still see themselves as determining the ONE AND TRUE COURSE for the Republican Party, namely the GOP Establishment and Michael Steele . (note to Steele: don’t bother blowing the dwindling revenues of the RNC on Romney—he’s got enough money of his own to pursue your mutual dreams)
This Romney push is crystal clear ALREADY, it’s just camouflaged a little under the pretext of him being out there talking about his ‘book’, and showing his face again to establish public approval: it’s all part of a Merchandising Master Plan, though. And yeah, it probably won’t work this time either, but it’s going to continue for quite some time patiently until both he and the RNC finally have to give up, and let someone else who means something to the new Conservative constituency finally into the game.

Mitt, the brightest wonk, Bain Capital, Harvard Law and MBA, Mormon Royalty, home state son of Utah, Michigan, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Colorado and California can not be wrong about his most important act of his single term political career.

What’s else is he going to run on, his military career? His fluffy hair? His bailout of his hack Utah friends with federal money for a glorified ski meet for dumb athletes and rich people?

Now nice, only 3 minutes after 9 and we have our first Anti-Romney screed of the day. The Anti-Mormons are so proud.

I'm not a Romney fan, but Mr. Romney is far from finished as a presidential contender, despite what this one-out-of-10,000 Republican consultants in Washington says.

FReepers forget, at their peril, that to govern, one must first be elected. Extremists on the right do not get elected, paving the way for Radical Dems.

I well remember the Florida FReepers who declared W a RINO and encouraged others to not vote for him in 2000. When all the votes were counted, W won by Florida 527 votes. Did those FReepers really want President Gore?

I would also remind you of the FReepers who said we could stop worrying about Obamacare passage, that is was dead. They wanted us to concentrate on defeating Romney in 2012!

Remind me, did Obamacare pass?

Lay off Romney. The 2010 General is today's problem. Solve today's problem first.

Nice to see Romney's HATE PATROL here on FR.
Romney is FINISHED. He could have spoken up before ObamaCARE/RomneyCARE was passed.
and he could have apologized (long list, though).

Did Mitt Romney and Team Romney apologize to America yet for throwing the last Election?

"Romney presidential campaign staffers…have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters."

"Frum ... (Romney supporter called Gov. Palin’s) nomination a "huge mistake" October 13 (2008)"

Frum: "I will support (Romney) without qualm."

Frum now makes his living as the media's go-to basher of fellow Republicans”

"Frum ... (Romney supporter called Gov. Palin’s) nomination a "huge mistake" October 13 (2008)"

" 80 percent of Romney's former staff was absorbed by McCain
and these individuals were responsible for what amounts
to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."

"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off
….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
... was Nicolle Wallace's husband."

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

Mitt Romney: ”I have not apologies for the attacks of my staff
on either candidate Gov. Palin or her children.
Nor apologies to the reNow that Romneycare is national, a little self examination
may be in order for you FReepers.
You may want to ask yourself “why should we trust
someone SOB who attacks GOP candidates and their children?“

“I’m not a Romney fan, but Mr. Romney is far from finished as a presidential contender.”

Yes. He is. The nerves are still twitching but heis dead as a doornail. I can’t even get excited about going on threads to expose him any more. I realized he was effectively dead as a candidate the other day when I began to feel a little nostalgic. Palin would have had such an easy time beating him. It would have been too easy. I still don’t see who beats her, but Mitt would have been far and away the easiest to beat..and the most fun.

RIP Mitt.
Two fold Cause of Death: Gut shot by ObamaCare and died from malpractice attributable to RomneyCare.

“He reminds me of John Kerry.”

Biggest difference is that they each saw a different party as the best vehicle to achieving power. If Kerry had thought it would benefit him more he’d be an R and if Mitt thought it was to his advantage he’d have switched from RINO to dem. Both are intellectually dishonest.
