The Tea Party protests are nothing compared to the seething rage of the anti-Bush crowds
London Telegraph Blogs (U.K.) ^ | March 29, 2010 | Stephanie Gutmann

So, according to Frank Rich of the New York Times, the Tea Party protesters are indulging in a “small-scale mimicry of Kristallnacht.” There is a “tsunami of anger” gathering across the land, he writes, and an “accompanying rise in right-wing extremism”.

Well, I detest some of the expressions reported in recent days and I’m hoping the Tea Party movement – where I’ve met many thoughtful, responsible people – will begin a little self-policing. I’m also hoping that the worst sign-carriers will be taken aside and questioned — as I would be willing to bet that some of them are plants, out to generate material for the Frank Riches of the world in order to discredit the movement.

In the meantime, let’s not flush recent history down the memory hole. Zombietime.com, a very reputable website that has been around for years specialising in photographing political rallies and public gatherings, has a very interesting gallery of photos from the Bush years. Go here to see people at rallies holding signs with legends like “Save Mother Earth. Kill Bush.”

Media Schadenfreude and Media Shenanigans

The Telegraph is doing the job that the US media won't. Exposing the double standard of blowhards like those at the NYet Times:

Double standard has become so commonly used that it is just not powerful enough an expression to describe it.

Whatever the progressives do or did they did for all the right reasons: The children, the whales, the little guy, Mother Gaia, peace, GLBT rights, the trees, the people, Gorebull Warming, Civil Rights, the dolphins, social justice and womyn’s rights! How dare you question their actions, motivations or anything else....

Well geez Frank, think there might be a message there?

Perhaps that is one solution to our problem with the media here. With the Internet, we don’t need the American media anymore. We have each other and international news. Ignore the American media for the propagandists they are and get real news from more reliable sources.

every liberal protest witnessed is engulfed in brick throwing, fire starting, hanging/burning/head cut off of some republican politician, car overturning, etc.

And yet the Tea Parties have yet to turn into anything resembling a violent protest. In fact if the only accounts of violence at tea party events were acts of aggression by Obama/SEIU supporters at town hall meetings.

Oh the irony of it all.

If these SAME POSTERS appeared today the people who made them would be visited by the Secret Service and the left would be screaming “FREE SPEECH!”

Any doubt about that?

And the media glibly reports that the "protest/riot" was "mostly peaceful."
