Latest Physics Theories May Help Challenge Evolution
ECR/Technology Review ^ | 30 Mar 10 | EC

Posted on 03/30/2010 8:53:37 AM PDT by nysuperdoodle

The latest theories on the nature and origin of gravity are generating lots of interest from those looking to unify the various systems (Einsteinian, Newtonian, Quantum, String Theory) of looking at our universe, and bringing to the forefront the importance of the second law of thermodynamics as an organizing principle in our universe. The problem is that the second law of thermodynamics and evolution are pretty much incompatible, as EC explains...

I already know what real, 115 year old, neo darwinism is. And how far what you’re saying it is varies from what it really is.

In any system, entropy (chaos) is always increasing, and any decrease of entropy (chaos) inside a system requires work (intelligence) to be added to the system.

Adding sunlight to a system is the same as adding intelligence?

Why do you wear clothes? Genesis.

It gets cold in Chicago during the winter months. And I didn't need to read that in Genesis.

In any creationist system, stupidity is always increasing; any decrease in stupidity requires work and intelligence be added to the system, but this is impossible inside a closed creationist system; as such their stupidity is always increasing.

Why live in Chicago, when you could live in one of the tropical paradises in which your ostensible ancestors thrived?

Even the Olympic Committee picked Rio de Janeiro over Chicago, in spite of an appeal in person from The 0ne itself.

Why live in Chicago,

I was born here. I work here. My clothes are here.

when you could live in one of the tropical paradises in which your ostensible ancestors thrived?

You tell me. Maybe it's in Genesis?

There is a real interesting article linked at the bottom of the Evil Conservative web page article.

Gravity Emerges from Quantum Information, Say Physicists

I think the general idea is that gravity is the result of the erasure of quantum information and not the other way around. They are speaking of the event horizon surrounding a black hole. Not sure how the normal force of gravity we are all famitiar with has anything to do with losing quantum information. Still it is an interesting artlcle.

Any thoughts on this matter?

I have no comment on that paper. However, my favorite experiment concerning quantum gravity is described here.

Too bad "Physicist" isn't still around to answer these questions.

Adding sunlight to a system is the same as adding intelligence?

It depends on the IQ of the sunlight. Dumb sunlight no but smart sunlight yes.

Can’t say I didn’t try.

I know you’re intelligent enough to figure it out.
