Pawlenty to Dobbs: U.S. "Close to Having More People Riding in the Wagon than Pulling the Wagon"

Here is audio of GOP Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty on radio with Lou Dobbs where they talked about ObamaCare and the use of the "Commerce Clause" to justify the ability of the Federal Government to mandate people purchase Health Insurance.

Pawlenty said ObamaCare is filled with tax increases, and the answer to solving the nation's Health Care problems is not to "federalize" it.

Dobbs also asked about whether Pawlenty is now "going after" Mitt Romney on Health Care. Pawlenty said he respects Romney, but that it is clear RomneyCare in Massachusetts did not contain costs as they sought to expand care. Pawlenty said he did believe had Romney been Governor in Massachusetts over the past four years, he would have tried to do more to contain costs there.

On the subject of the U.S. becoming an entitlement society, Pawlenty said (7:52 mark of video) we are close to the point of "more people riding in the wagon than pulling the wagon, and that just can't work."

The tires on the wagon are worn out and have flats from all the weight. I don’t wanna be a Beast of Burden anymore.

You got that right! the sound you hear is that of people cashing out, stashing, and fleeing. Anyone with any assets and a brain is getting the hell out of Dodge with whatever they can manage.

The wagon pullers will just up and leave, IMHO. Go Galt. Whatever you call it. Case in point: application rate for passports for people of high income is soaring; although many already have them due to high levels of previous international travel. We are seeing assets being moved quietly off shore and away from the purvey of Uncle Sam by folks in high income brackets who usually see things coming long before those of the average populace. Some people are not waiting for the other shoe to drop. I also heard doctors in the US are sending resumes overseas like crazy these days to other nations where they will encounter higher pay, less litigation, less socialism and better currency options and standards of living if they expatriate from Obamaland, either temporarily (until the law and its effects can be appealed) or permanently, in the case Socialism does irretreviably take root in the USA. All I can say is Obamacare woke up a LOT of already savvy people. I have heard this whispered by multiple sources in various countries and others here and there. In the end, as it always come down to it, people vote with their feet. Who is to say the US some day would not become just like the nations many people fled years ago, precisely, to come to the free USA.
“It cant happen here” has to have been one of the most ridiculous thoughts ever verbalized or even pondered. It was probably deeply ingrained in the mind of culturally-
opiated (on bread and circuses) Joe Sixpack as a given, carved into marble tablets, as he couch-potatoed out, letting his Republic go to hell in a handbasket, ranking college basketball far more important.

310m people in the US

140m file (ie: taxpayers)

the bottom 50% of all taxpayers pay less than 3% of all taxes (call it zero)

therefore...

70m are pulling the cart while 210m people are riding in it.

23% pay for it all. and that was before 0bambi care
