Democrats Decry Corporate Revelations on Obamacare
A Semi-News/Semi-Satire from AzConservative ^ | 3 April 2010 | John Semmens

The wave of corporate announcements of the special multimillion dollar charges to their income statements that will be necessary to account for the costs of the newly enacted healthcare legislation has sparked anger among Democrat leaders.

Obama Administration Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke called the announcements “unpatriotic.” “Although these kinds of adjustments to company earnings may be required under Securities and Exchange regulations, there’s no need for them to be so public about it,” Locke complained. “If people start to think that the new law is more of a burden than a benefit they may turn against the President. So, my question is couldn’t these companies have just suffered in silence for the sake of the country?”

“Suffer in silence is precisely what they should’ve done,” according to House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman, Representative Henry Waxman (D-Calif). “Now they’re going to answer to me in Committee hearings. And I warn you, it won’t be pretty.”

They have to make these announcements but they shouldn’t be “so public about it”????

I have a better solution, rather than society changing to accomodate liberal idiots, how about we just put liberal trouble makers in their place?

Let’s see...

SEC Regulations require under penalty of law / threat of class action for failure to notify shareholders if a big LOSS is going to be posted by a company.

In anticipation of the huge loss from this new law these business comply with the regulations.

Then, Dems not even knowing what’s in Obamacare since they didn’t read it, are mad bout compliance with the SEC Regs and call in the CEOs to bully them before the MSM which is in the tank for Obama.

Sum it up?

The CEO needs to get a letter from the IRS/SEC/fed agencies that regulate and interpret accounting practices and reporting requirements. That way if the Dems claim that the corporations are manipulating calculations per their own interests, the CEO’s can produce letters that raised the issues to the fed regulators and per fed regulators they followed the reg interpretations and proscribed procedures to calculate the Health Reform requirements. That way the Dems cannot use their experts who have their own agenda/opinions to counter the corporations experts on how to calcuate the costs. A letter in hand would challenge the Congress to change the laws that the fed regulators have instructed the corporations to follow. Otherwise Congress is pressuring the CEO’s to violate fed regulations. Time will tell if these CEO’s who are good at manipulating the Wall Street system to maximize their stock prices/bonuses are smart enough to blunt Congressional witch hunt/show trial.
