Government employees are seldom held responsible even when they say they'll take responsibility. Did Reno pay a fine? Was she demoted? Did she take a pay cut? How was she held responsible?
Over and over we see government employees, from the top down, break laws and get a slap on the wrist. A school bus drive can break traffic laws, resulting in the death of children, and only serve ninety days. Postal employees can steal DVDs, and get suspended for a few months. Police officers can shoot a woman, who's just driving down the street, and receive a few demerits. If average citizens did these things they'd be in jail for years, and the companies they work for would pay millions in fines.
My goals have included a near total abolition of the existing government culture to include but not be limited to:
Dissolution of the Department of Education,FCC,FAA,IRS,EPA, DEA,et.al
Abolition of Direct Election of Senators
Abolition of limits on Congressional Districts.
And that is just the stuff off the top of my head.

I just looked @ your info page and can say that you and I share common goals. I don’t kid myself by thinking that accomplishing these goals will be a short or easy task. But, I am in it for the long haul and joined FR b/c it is so nice to be among those with whom I share common goals.
You're absolutely right. This should be a link added to Alamo Girl's 'Clinton downside legacy' but we should be lazer-focused on taking back Congress in November and blocking/repealing the current commie administration's dismantling of our Constitutional, free market America.

The whole point of "wag the dog" (e.g. the escalated bombing of Iraq while the house was impeaching Clinton) is to cause the public to focus on something else. Ditto for the "it's all about sex, sex, sex campaign" during Clinton's trial in the Senate.
We have the opportunity this year to change the course our country is on. And we should expect "watch the birdie" news and instead remain focused on our objective.

The post office apologizes and said they will stay vigilant and go after anyone who tampers with the mail to make sure packages get to their intended recipients.
This is not the first time Wrack has been disciplined for stealing mail, Local 4 reported.
He was suspended previously for more than 20 days for a similiar crime.
The others I recall received probation and/or restitution, even when forgery was committed.
Rhonda Niederhauser received two years probation for stealing a check, in the amount of $1,000., and deposited it into her account.
Phyllis Greene received five years probation because she was depressed and didn't deliver 10,000 pieces of mail. She had the mail in storage units.
Angela Scanlon sentenced to six months home incarceration and three years probation for taking gift cards.
Troy L. Neal, six months probation for stealing cash and gift cards.
April Taylor, three years probation and six months house arrest for stealing gift cards.
Latoya Johnson, five years probation and restitution in the amount of $14,800.00. Investigators believe the amount she took was $18,260.00 in cash from registered mail.
Amanda Turner, three years probation for stealing gift cards. She became at least the sixth postal employee sentenced in Tampa federal court in the past year for stealing mail. Five received probation; one was sentenced to a year and a day behind bars.
Jason I. Hiscock, one year probation for stealing money from greeting cards.
Gloria Flores, three years probation for stealing DVDs.
These people were doing this over months and/or years. Had they been stealing gift cards, cash, DVDs from Wal-Mart, they'd be charged with multiple offenses and in jail. Had I taken these items from a mail box, I'd be in jail.
Never heard of that either.
BTW, this business on "stealing DVDs" is intriguing. There are numerous DVDs sent out by various DVD clubs, vendors, etc., and they end up undeliverable for a variety of reasons.
Ordinarily you'd think the vendors would want them back ~ but they don't. They quickly pile up and become trash in the post office.
They get disposed of in the compacter or other refuse operation.
People "in the know" go picking through this stuff once it hits the landfill.
Since it's not really possible to "steal" materials deemed to be TRASH, REFUSE, GARBAGE ~ etc., what you have in these cases is a non-crime ~ something more like a "did not follow directions" or "violated regulations" sort of thing.
When you have an employee snag a DVD in transit from the vendor to the customer, that would be a theft.
So, regarding the 465 DVDs that guy "stole", how many of them were already identified as refuse?
You might ask.
BTW, I'd still send people to jail for 25 years for violating a postal regulation ~ but you know that already don't you.
Please write letters to the judges in those cases and tell him you won't be happy until the taxpayers take over all their expenses.
Now, about people stealing stuff INSIDE the post office, in general you can get away with it once or twice. Traditionally by the third time they are waiting on you to do it.
A post office really isn't much like Wal-Mart.

In the cases I've read, the people were caught because Netflix and Blockbuster had reported DVDs not being delivered to customers.
After reports of large numbers of movies not getting to customers in Massachusetts, Postal worker, Myles Weathers, was caught on video stealing. He took $36,471 worth of DVDs. He was expected to be sentenced to 10 months of the five years the law allows. I couldn't find any report on his being sentenced yet.
I'm not sure what bothers me most, the crime, or that there are so many stupid people working for the Post Office.
You really do have to expect there to be some stupid ones when you have numbers like that.
General Motors, which had a totally stupid bargaining unit AND management, had a fraction of that number of employees.
If you had GM running the post office you'd never get any mail.
Regarding Netflix, et al, and "lost DVDs" their concern is more one of accounting so they can follow up unpaid bills with more formal collection methods. The DVD, in and of itself, is produced for pennies. I believe when I retired the mailing costs were already higher than the disk production and packaging costs.
Remember, Netflix, et al, must pay a royalty for each DVD successfully sent to a customer, and that royalty is the highest cost element in their business. If I were them I'd make sure all apparent "non deliveries" were reported to USPS so I could subpoena them to appear for any challenge in court ~ as in "Judge, they jus' never delivered the DVDs and now they want me to pay for 'em".
