A must read for everyone running in 2010: How to capture the youth vote.

Obama showed us: promise them the moon in tones that echo what their teachers and professors have drilled into their heads.
Tell them that their future has been mortgaged and that each of them will owe $100,000 to China.
Get Hollywood Reds to champion your candidate and talk rash (including rape jokes) about your opponent. The “cool kids” will know not to consider that other candidate...
Conservatives are the new counter-culture. All those smelly hippies from the 60’s used to PRETEND that they were against authority. And now that they’re in power it’s crystal clear that they are complete authoritarian bastards.
When conservatives ran the country, religion was the moral guide. Now that communists run the country, authoritarian bastard government lackeys are the moral guide.
The difference is, nobody ever put a gun to your head and made you put money in the collection plate.
These Lib kiddies spend 60K to get a college diploma.
Then they expect to get on that “young professional” - “I’m gonna rule the world”, career track to a “look at me” car and a nice house in the suburbs with 2.5 kids.
Guess what?...............
Their gonna be mighty unhappy with their HERO in the white house, when they realize he’s SH&T all over their plans.

Judge Haller: Uh, two what? Uh, uh, what was that word?
Gambini: Uh, what word?
Judge Haller: Two what?
Gambini: What?
Judge Haller: Did you say “yutes”?
Gambini: Yeah, two yutes.
Judge Haller: What is a yute?
Gambini: Oh, excuse me Your Honor: two youTHs.
It was clear to young adults in the 1970s too. "Punk" music wasn't a leftist movement, it was a counter to the political correctness of hippies (and yes even then they saw through the hipocrisy of the hard left).
Political correctness is thought control.
Question authority. Question the authority of communist agitators who infiltrate academia and institutions of power.
Our culture is still being driven by the Me-Generation baby boomers and their offspring (largely in our media controlled world). Style over substance. Obama was "hip" because he was advertised like Campbell's soup, his portrait was a pale imitation of the work of Andy Warhol.
Time was the hipster beatnik was on the FRINGE of society, not wanting a part of politics. There was some political activism but it wasn't uniform. Ken Kesey's followup to One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest was a book about a hero who crossed a union picket line. Jack Kerouac supported Eisenhower and the Vietnam War.
Overall, they wanted to drop out of the square society and "do their own thing" but ultimately knew that SOMEONE had to run the power plant, put food into the cubes in the automat, be an accountant or an engineer...
Now everyone wants to be a hipster and no one wants to work an office job (and Michelle Obama told a crowd of youths to NOT take an office job for some corporation).
Many people on Facebook giving "news" accounts of their lives. I guess that's what it takes to be "famous" on some level today.
