Whose Country is This?
CDS ^ | 4/25/2010 | Patrick J. Buchanan

With the support of 70 percent of its citizens, Arizona has ordered sheriffs and police to secure the border and remove illegal aliens, half a million of whom now reside there.

Arizona acted because the U.S. government has abdicated its constitutional duty to protect the states from invasion and refuses to enforce America’s immigration laws. “We in Arizona have been more than patient waiting for Washington to act,” said Gov. Jan Brewer. “But decades of inaction and misguided policy have created an unacceptable situation.”

We have a crisis in Arizona because we have a failed state in Washington.

What is the response of Barack Obama, who took an oath to see to it that federal laws are faithfully executed?

He is siding with the law-breakers. He is pandering to the ethnic lobbies.

” We have a crisis in Arizona because we have a failed state in Washington.

What is the response of Barack Obama, who took an oath to see to it that federal laws are faithfully executed?

He is siding with the law-breakers. He is pandering to the ethnic lobbies. He is not berating a Mexican regime that aids and abets this invasion of the country of which he is commander in chief. Instead, he attacks the government of Arizona for trying to fill a gaping hole in law enforcement left by his own dereliction of duty.

He has denounced Arizona as “misguided.” He has called on the Justice Department to ensure that Arizona’s sheriffs and police do not violate anyone’s civil rights. But he has said nothing about the rights of the people of Arizona who must deal with the costs of having hundreds of thousands of lawbreakers in their midst.”

"...said Gov. Jan Brewer..."We have a crisis in Arizona because we have a failed state in Washington."

Interesting choice of words, but I don't disagree with her.

Washington, has indeed failed in its primary duties to The People and the several States.

But it's actually worse than that, now that the ruling Marxist Democrat party is in charge. They've now exceeded all expectations of mere failure, and are now in full-blown TREASON to The People.

“Let us see how many African-Americans, who are today frozen out of the 8 million jobs held by illegal aliens that might otherwise go to them or their children, will march to defend an invasion for which they are themselves paying the heaviest price.”

Boy is he right there. That’s the crazy thing about it. It hurts their demographics the worst BY FAR.

Yes! And rewards incompetent business owners who refuse to face reality and rely on pseudo-slaves to make up for their failure to remain competitive via automation, IT, or other more sustainable means.

Whose country is this? That is the most important question that needs to be answered. I used to believe that this was one nation Under God, and that the leaders in the government governed at the will of the people. I no longer believe this to be true. Our political leaders in Washington live as if God were dead and that the people live by permission of the government. Justice is defined by whatever is in the interest of the state. Morality is determined by nine people on the Supreme Court, who are chosen by politicians. I am not certain to whom this country belongs, but it does not belong to the people.

Took him a while....????

They just passed the law a few days ago, and he's the first that I know of that has written about it.

These people are running around smearing swastikas on state buildings with refried beans. Are they what we want as fellow citizens?

Pat has been pounding this issue home since the early 1990s. He tried to tell the nation what hell it was going to pay for ignoring the invading hordes.

I think he’s just sick of what has and is still taking place. Being disgusted with it, he just tends to ignore it these days.

People didn’t buy in. He’s hoarse from screaming about it.

I don’t blame him for not commenting on it before now.

It has been a very lonely place to be, angry about illegal immigration and what it’s done to our nation. And now it’s all but too late to do anything about it.

This will go nowhere IMO. High roller Republicans want the cheap labor. Low baller Democrats just want to destroy our nation.

Too bad the Obama administration can't feel the pulse of the people.....or count to ten correctly.

The Tenth Amendment (Amendment X) to the United States Constitution, which is part of the Bill of Rights, was ratified on December 15, 1791. The Tenth Amendment restates the Constitution's principle of federalism by providing that powers not granted to the national government nor prohibited to the states by the Constitution of the United States are reserved to the states or the people.

Safety and protection are federal responsibilties for the whole but where given negligence of those responsbilities in certain states, as has been the case, it behooves the states to act in their own best interest.

We are obligated to act in our best interests.

Buchanan has been standing on the border since his visit there in 2000, waiting for everyone else, LOL.

Remember, the anti-Buchanan Freepers claimed he was a hypocrite because he took one step over the border into Mexico illegally and he should be arrested.

Hmmm...I didn’t expect to take heat for that comment!

I well remember the good ol’ days when Buchanan and Tancredo were voices in the Wilderness.

I’m starting to get burned out after hitting the ping list since Friday with all the ink this issue has gotten. I was surprised at the time that I didn’t see something from Pat before today. I was also surprised to see Tancredo make comments against SB1070. That caused a serious double-take this morning.

You can’t breathe around here without getting jumped on lately. I blame Bush, LOL.

Seriously, it’s like the whole country wants to riot.

Thanks for the response HiJinx. Sorry to have been so negative. I’m so used to folks going after Pat for any number of things, I just didn’t want something to slip by when he has actually been one of the best on the topic.

Your observations are reasoned. Take care.

If they are illegal immigrants, by definition they are law breakers. So what is the problem in enforcing the law? As for “civil rights”, in the first place these people, by definition, are not part of the “civil population”. In the second place it’s not as if they are all going to be lined up against a wall and shot. Enforcement of any law implies some kind of coercion, but it doesn’t have to mean cruelty, and its disingenious of the president to imply otherwise.

It need to be said, and said clearly: Barack Hussein Obama is committing treason by siding with the lawbreakers and illegal invaders to this nation. He is not upholding the Constitution, which he swore as an oath to defend.

This is grounds for Impeachment.

This isn't diddling an intern and lying about it in a sexual harassment lawsuit.

This is siding with a foreign government(s) (primarily Mexico) against American citizens and their Constitutional rights.

I am not chanting "Black Helicopter" rhetoric. I don't think the MSM, the Democrats, or anyone else fully realizes what Barack Hussein Obama has done in the last 48 hours.

We are on VERY dangerous ground.
