Rob Gleasons man Tim Burns appears on radio and television shows across the nation regularly these days, now that he received the Republican party endorsement for the seat formerly held by Jack Murtha. Rob Gleason is PA Republican State Chair and long time Murtha ally. Yes, I said Republican.
Burns does not mentioned that the grassroots conservative candidate for the House of Representatives from PA, Lt. Col. Bill Russell is beating him in the polls by 29 points http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/mar/23/defeat-for-another-house-seat/ . Burns is beating Critz the Democrat candidate by 4 according to his website. This translates to Russell smashing Critz in the general election.
Also not mentioned, while Murtha was hanging our Marines out to dry as cold blooded killers, Gleasons insurance firm profited from Murthas dealings, on the backs of the suffering of our marines. It was no surprise Gleason searched for a POSER candidate to attempt to hijack a very successful campaign from Lt. Col Bill Russell for the next election. Rob Gleasons insurance business continues to make money from ideals with companies founded on Jack Murthas defense contract deals, something that Burns also does not mention. http://pagopwing.com/new_page_3.htm http://www.pa2010.com/2010/03/burns-launches-first-tv-ad/
Bill Russell had the courage to run for the seat occupied by Jack Murtha, while the man was alive and had the power of the incumbency to fight back. Murtha supervised any number of dirty tricks against Russell and not only did Russell survive, but as an unknown upstart without party support, came within striking distance of winning.

Now Jack is gone, but his Chief of Staff, Critz, is running on May 18 for Murthas seat. Reportedly, Critz made the deals for Murthas office and Murtha rubber stamped them. And now it gets interesting. Back in 2006, Santorum was defeated largely because of conservative anger at his endorsement of Specter. At the recent SRLC on April 10, Santorum made a speech, that simply must be seen on video. Not because it is a hit out of the park, but because he does everything but bite his lower lip and ask us to define sex. His physicality on stage is only missing Bill Clintons unmistakeable accent. http://www.viddler.com/explore/rightscoop/videos/19/
A question and answer period began immediately after his speech. Santorum was questioned as to his regrets about his support of Specter in spite of the peoples opposition. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDAFlmprDto
In summary, he supported Specter for the sake of the children.
He says he knew hed have two conservative supreme court candidates to work through the approval process. First, there is no way Santorum could have known that there would be two candidates for Supreme Court for approval when he supported Specter. Second, any credit for conservative Supreme Court justices belongs to the American people who went absolutely apoplectic when GWBs first choice was Harriet Miers and no one had more to lose from her selection than Santorum. http://old.nationalreview.com/lopez/lopez200510181248.asp
His answer attempts to leave the impression that he is sorry and will never do it again. However in a question that follows, he slips in a plug for the machine endorsed Republican candidate in for the House, from PA Tim Burns, without mentioning Russell the conservative Republican who is way ahead in the polls. Santorum wants to be president after all. http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index.ssf/2010/04/specter_denies_endorsement_dea.html .
Thus, within minutes, he has done exactly what he did in 04 with Specter, and that is back the establishment Republican candidate with full awareness that Lt. Col. Bill Russell is far and away the peoples choice. http://www.viddler.com/explore/rightscoop/videos/21/
Newt Gingrich is also at it again, repeating the same choices he made in NY s 23rd district race . Gingrich refused to back the conservative Doug Hoffman, in favor of the then Republican endorsed candidate Dede Scuzzafaza. Dede resembled a conservative like steel resembles a car. He hasnt learned a damn thing. His ego wont allow it. He is running for the White House and dammit he needs Burns money. Not only is Burns a millionaire, but if and when he loses, he can and likely will give money to Santorum and Gingrich.
Someone please call Santorum and Gingrich, before they turn the House back to the Democrats and give the gavel back to Pelosi.
Please ping this around!
Time to learn who Tim Burns really is! If one looks like a POSER, acts like a POSER, then most likely is a POSER!
Thanks for posting, HC.
Our PA GOP leadership is so inspiring. /s
Tim Burns Republican Candidate for Congress
On April 27, 2009, Tim Burns declared his candidacy for Congress for Pennsylvanias 12th Congressional District.
Even after starting his own business, Tim never had aspirations for public office. But as a businessman, father and community volunteer, he has seen first-hand the value of hard work over handouts. In announcing his candidacy, he stated, "We need to get away from looking to the government to solve all of our problems. Instead we need to force them to solve theirs. We need to stop the bailouts and handouts, and need to balance the budget and ensure that our children will inherit a strong America, not a bankrupt one. I know how to create jobs, make a payroll, meet a budget, and stay out of debt. I am running to restore this forgotten, commonsense value to Washington."
Tim Burns was raised, educated and lives in Pennsylvanias 12th Congressional District. He grew up in the Hornerstown section of Johnstown (Cambria County) and graduated from Johnstown High School in 1986. In 1990, Tim obtained his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (Indiana, County).
In 1992, after graduating college, Tim started his own pharmacy technology company in the basement of his house, that improved the process of filling prescriptions with greater accuracy and grew it to over 400 employees before selling it in 2003. Tims business background and work in health care technology make him uniquely qualified to help our nation increase access to quality, affordable health care without raising taxes, and bring business sense to the government.
Since selling his company in 2003, Tim has been active in economic development projects in Southwestern Pennsylvania as an advisor and entrepreneur. He has also volunteered his time helping flood victims in Sharpsburg (Allegheny County), traveling to Mississippi to provide aid to the victims of Hurricane Katrina, volunteering at a local hospice and directing a youth camp for special needs children. Tim serves on the Board of Directors for the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America (CASANA).
Tim Burns commitment to conservative values, smaller government, lower taxes, an end to wasteful spending and restoring an ethical standard in public service, makes him the best choice to be the Republican nominee for Congress in the 12th Congressional District. Tims life experience growing up and attending school in the 12th Congressional District as well as being a father, entrepreneur, successful businessman and community leader, make him uniquely qualified to serve as our next Congressman.
Tim is a resident of Eighty Four, PA (Washington County) where he enjoys spending time with his two sons, Brock Christian (14) and Trent Matthew (12). He attends St. Benedict Catholic Church in Peters Twp. (Washington County).
Like your name.
Its been sent to Q and R as well.
Thinking of righting a follow up called Free Florida.
Too many fish in the Republican pond. I live here and ‘I’m’ confused. Either way I can’t vote in this anyway. Not my district.
I am a conservative. I believe in the sovereignty and security of this one nation, under God. I believe in the sanctity of life and that life begins at conception. I believe in marriage between one man and one woman. I believe that all children in our school systems should be educated in English and taught the civic duties and responsibilities of citizenship and patriotism. I believe that we have the responsibility and obligation to control our borders and determine who is allowed to live and work in our country. I believe in private property rights and that the death tax should be killed. I believe government economic policies should reward those who build business or save and invest their money. I believe in the right to bear arms and the right of self defense. I believe in rugged individualism and that no one owes me anything just because I live and breathe. I believe we should all practice charity in some form or fashion, especially to those who are suffering and least fortunate. But charity must be voluntary and spring from a spirit of altruism and love for your neighbor. I believe that imposed systems of wealth redistribution destroy families, produce a culture of dependence and hurt everyone. Finally, I believe there is room to acknowledge the role of our Creator in public life as stated in the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. ---Bill Russell in his own words
Especially watch and see who the Republican Party Elite are who go after the Governor of Arizona, Arizona Legislature and of course the citizens of Arizona who are in support of their new State immigration reform bill. Wonder if they will go so far as to join Al Sharpton in Arizona to protest! I expect to see John McCain and Lindsey Graham walking arm in arm with good old Al any day now. And after what I just read, perhaps Jeb Bush will be joining them.
We meed the same here in Florida since the Federal Government under both political parties will do NOTHING to enforce the illegal immigration laws already on the books!
HELLO CUTIE PIE
HUCKASNOT AND JEBSTER are out to be in the race for the WH, Can you tell?
I sure can't vote in PA District 12 either! Especially since I am a Florida resident! :) But I sure can spread the word about REAL CONSTITUTIONAL CONSERVATIVES who are running for Congress! We for sure can not expect the RNC Elite to endorse the BEST Conservative! Remember Hoffman vs Scozzafava?
This Special Election coming up in PA on May 18th is an important election and we need to support the BEST candidate! That happens to be Bill Russell! IMHO
“Stupid is as stupid does” and the REAL POSERS are sure standing up and showing themselves, aren't they? And as they do, their political careers are going to go down the toilet! Rightfully so!
And if I hear Marco Rubio join the forces against the actions of the citizens of Arizona I will be changing my tag line!
Lower and a little to the right....
I’m back. Ping
Somebody posted it on youtube, here's a link...
Contact me to be added to ping list.
PING to #1 & #25
(Applause!!!) Thank you HC!!!
Excellent post. Burns came out of ‘nowhere.’ Russell ALMOST beat Murtha; and Russell had attracted national support.
PA Republicans that stupid or more nefarious? A quid pro quo...I don’t know...as I don’t live in JTown...but...
I think the ‘Tea Partiers’ are no longer ‘vote along a party endorsement.’ Nope...people are learning about who is on that ballot.
Thanks for the ping and great thread.
And Jeb Bush and Mike Huckabee put one up against Dan Fanelli.
See a pattern? Presidential wannabees settting up money suckers.
I agree. I think larger, behind the scenes efforts are at play. Those efforts and the strawman candidates need to be defeated.
Yes, it is to destroy the momentum of the Tea Party movement while singing its praises.
Could you PLEASE cough up some more information. I just sent this guy $25 based on my internet searches. If Burns is bad news I need to know details!
The ad is being put out by FreedomsDefenseFund PAC and there is no connection to the official Russell for Congress campaign. It’s an independent expenditure that Russell has no control over. Your advice is spot on, but in this case Col. Russell has nothing to be concerned about.
He didn't learn a thing in 06. Hows that go...a leopard can't change its spots.
the man has no clue how the people on the ground in PA feel about him.
He thinks he’s going to be pres.
(brrrrpumuck) (sound of choking on own laughter)
Marine Uncle! I thought I saw you at a Thursday Morning meeting!
I talked to you in HD a couple times. (no not in the electrical deparment but in the front of the store)
I live just a few miles from the store.
Glad you got my post! Next time I come to the store I’ll introduce myself.
You are about 5 10 to 6 foot with dark hair with some gray correct?
Sorry for the double ping. I pinged you to the wrong thread the first time.
40 lashes for the blonde!
From Bob Guzzardi PA conservative activist:
The Principled, Authentic, Resolute outsider, Bill Russell (Lt. Col. Army retired) , disdained and dismissed by the Rob Gleason Earmarking Establishment, who get rich from government, demonstrated from the outset leadership. As Wall Street Journals John Fund observed ( 4/27/2010): Many veterans lack the polish and political skills of candidates who have climbed the ladder of public office, but in an anti-incumbent year they may find more success than normal precisely because they haven’t been tainted by the backroom deal-making that voters are increasingly suspicious of. John Fund of WSJ Political Diary (a subscription service. Below is extended commentary on Rahm Emanuels strategy to recruit Vets as Candidates.
In the 12th, Military veterans comprise a sizeable 13% of the vote. — Kyle Trygstad, RealClearPolitics.com
April 27, 2010
The idea of specifically recruiting military veterans to run for marginal House seats was part of Rahm Emanuel’s master plan when he ran the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in 2006. The strategy helped Democrats win back the House. Now Republicans are taking a page from the Book of Rahm and mounting their own effort to run veterans of the Iraq and Afghan wars. The Washington Times reports that the number of vets running this year will be double what it was in 2008 — and most of the 40 who are running are running as Republicans.
The surge comes at a time when the total of veterans in the House has reached a post-World War II low of just over 21%. D. Patrick Mahoney, an Iraq War veteran who heads the Veterans for Congress political action committee, says it’s to be expected that several of this year’s candidates will stumble short of the finish line because they come to their races without the wealth or network of supporters that more established candidates have.
Nonetheless, in the right districts veterans can appeal to voters as fresh faces who have proven their leadership qualities. Rep. Joe Sestak, a former admiral, is picking up ground in Pennsylvania’s Democratic Senate primary against longtime incumbent Arlen Specter. Mark Kirk, an Illinois GOP congressman who was twice deployed to Afghanistan as a reservist in 2008, is now favored to win the Senate seat once held by Barack Obama. Allen West, a Bronze Star winner who has trained Afghan troops as an adviser, is wowing Republican audiences in Palm Beach, Florida in his race to unseat an incumbent Democrat. Steve Stivers, another Bronze Star winner from the Iraq war, is an even bet to unseat Democratic Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy in a Columbus, Ohio district.
Many veterans lack the polish and political skills of candidates who have climbed the ladder of public office, but in an anti-incumbent year they may find more success than normal precisely because they haven’t been tainted by the backroom deal-making that voters are increasingly suspicious of.
You are certainly welcome! And don’t feel you need to answer all pings, as we Freepers all know lots of times we ping friends and really don’t expect a ping back. I try to answer pings to me if questions are asked. But often a ping back isn’t necessary.
You sure do have an out of sight work load! I am retired now, but sure understand.
When you get a chance, check out this link for more information and links. Honest Conservative is one who knows about the Burns/Gleson/Murtha connections.

I work at the Home Depot in Port Richmond off Aramingo Ave and Castor Avenue. Electrical Department. 5’8” thin and fully silver hair. So I guess you mistook me for another conservative you bumped into. However. If you where referring to the Port Richmond store please do make contact with me. If I am not in the day or time you visit ask someone in the Electrical Department to check our schedule book we keep at the flooring desk to find what days I will be scheduled that might meet your criteria for a visit.
A roger that. Retirement sounds ever more pleasant an idea to me. Work work work. Work is for the birds...heheh. But it does pay for somewhat affordable health insurance currently.
No, its another guy. What a coinky dink!
If I’m going up that way, I’ll contact you to say hello.
Is Brian Haughton your candidate for the House?
