As I was headed to the Tea Party in Hutchinson, I was asked why I was going. I realized I was going because of who I am and what I believe. But before I can share who I am, you need to know who I am not.
I am not a racist or a homophobe. I am not a Nazi. I am not "clinging to my guns or my religion." I am not "Astroturf." I am not insensitive to the needs of minorities, children and old people. I am not "politically correct." I am not apologetic. And I am not going to take it anymore.
Who I am is a hard-working, tax-paying, American citizen who understands what made this country great (a rugged spirit of individualism, a strong work ethic, a belief in the power of private enterprise and not oppressive government, a willingness to provide for myself and my family, a belief that we as a compassionate people will provide for those who cannot help themselves, and a sense that those who will not provide for themselves should not be supported by those who do).
I am in favor of big business, small business, and mind-your-own business. I am in favor of a hand up, not a hand out. I am bound by the principle that you should not spend more than you make. I am a firm believer in the Constitution, the military and the need for really big weapons. I am genuinely concerned for the state of our nation. I am a mom, a wife, a college-educated intelligent citizen and I am paying attention. That is who I am and why I went.
Well put!
Brilliant.
Awesome!
Excellent!
Most Americans feel the same way. The media won’t get away with the charade that is misrepresenting Tea Parties and who supports them. All people have to do is look in the mirror after watching fiction on CNN and MSNBC.
Here is a video worth watching, produced by The West Orlando Tea Party that really says it all.
Thanks, great video. Most libs would decline to watch it, unfortunately.
