The only part of this scenario that reads wrong:

To the reason for North Korea attacking the Deepwater Horizon, these reports say, was to present US President Obama with an "impossible dilemma" prior to the opening of the United Nations Review Conference of the Parties to the Treat on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) set to begin May 3rd in New York.

Um, nope. Obama is THRILLED by this event. It gives him ammo against "drill here, drill now" Palin. It also gives him support for his energy bill ala Rahm "don't waste a crisis" Emanuel's paradigm.

The only question I have is this: was Obama actually involved, or did our enemy North Korea (or some jihadist state) do this on their own to strengthen Obama's and the Democrat party's domestic hand? After all, it is VERY much in their interest to have Obama and the Democrats running things here because they are weak with respect to America's enemies.

Sorry if that sounds tinfoilly, but can any of you really find a weakness in the arguement from an international perspective?

Could be. I just thought it might be of some interest even when taken with a grain of salt.

I don’t know what happen, but sitting duck rigs sure looks like a strategic vulnerability.

I don't know about the credibility of the source, but this early report, "To the attack itself, these reports continue, the North Korean “cargo vessel” Dai Hong Dan believed to be staffed by 17th Sniper Corps “suicide” troops left Cuba’s Empresa Terminales Mambisas de La Habana (Port of Havana) on April 18th whereupon it “severely deviated” from its intended course for Venezuela’s Puerto Cabello bringing it to within 209 kilometers (130 miles) of the Deepwater Horizon oil platform which was located 80 kilometers (50 miles) off the coast of the US State of Louisiana where it launched an SSC Sang-o Class Mini Submarine (Yugo class) estimated to have an operational range of 321 kilometers (200 miles)."

And before you LOL at the concept of the term "Sniper Corps", yes that's an honorific unit designation amongst the dprk SOF forces.

I’d believe this an attack by environazis before I’d believe that the Norks could have a ship in the Gulf of Mexico without anyone noticing.

Internet hyperventilation aside, does anyone seriously believe the norks could pull this off in the gulf of freakin’ Mexico? The Gulf of Tonkin, maybe, but the Gulf of Mexico? Really?

or immediately stop it by the only known and proven means possible, the detonation of a thermonuclear device.

BS.

I don’t know, I am completely in the dark.

I don’t know what to believe anymore.

Everyone is hiding everything, I feel like I live in a world of lies upon lies upon lies.

All I can do is watch.

It sounds too strange to me... but if there are other sources that can confirm these details, it would be worth seeing those other sources...

16 years of Bush and Clinton. Name one offshore oil drilling rig that had a blowout?

The technology over the past 16 years in oil drilling and safety has only approved. A anti domestic energy marxist says he is for offshore drilling a few months before this.

The Saudis who employ you know who and own part of news corp/Fox News - make at least $500 billion in profits not sales but profits per year on oil. I would bet if the domestic energy was hurt more - the Saudis might make a trillion a year in oil.

The joke is we have more oil/coal/shale oil/coal diesel and nat gas than the Saudis by a factor or 4 times.

Nope...nothing at all. It's interesting. I was a company commander in the ROK during the Kangnung Incursion in '96, and this would not be something I'd put past the capabilities of the dprks...especially if what the article said was true about the dprk cargo ship that deviated from it's course between Cuba and Venezuela.

Savage's show was pretty interesting tonight, not so much because he raised the issue, but moreso because his callers included a petroleum engineer, a former equipment designer from Prudhoe Bay, and a former Halliburton rig hand who was very familiar with the cementing procedure being pointed at. All three men were generally of the opinion that the incident resulting from a pure bad luck or mere human error was virtually nil, suggesting that there almost had to have been some kind of intentional sabotage.

I suspect this will go down in history, sharing an asterisk with TWA 800.

We’re all in the same boat and it’s getting so difficult to get through the BS to the truth.....and then you can’t really be sure.

I would think a fishing or cargo vessel would be the platform to launch the covert attack. If it was done at all.

I think it was the center fuel collection tank that exploded.

Sabotage? If so. I’d be looking at Maurice Strong and a company called AMEC. They were the ones that were doing the sabotage vulnerability assesments at the Pentagon, and all three WTCs on 911. If you’re into conspiracy theories ;)
