Warner Todd Huston -- the "Publius" on the right hand side of the photo above -- caught my eye today with this post. It gives me faith that there are some honest elected representatives who still have America's best interests at heart. And this one in NEW JERSEY, yet!!!
My favorite sentiment about the U.S. Supreme Court is from that rascal President Andrew Jackson. In 1832 the U.S. Supreme Court issued a decision in Worcester v. Georgia that Old Hickory wasnt too happy with. In reply he is famous for the sentiment that the Court made its decision and proposed that now let them enforce it.*More of the good news here...Would that we had more Andrew Jacksons.
Well, perhaps we do have at least one. I nominate Governor Chris Christie for the Andrew Jackson award for 2010 because Christie is taking an extremely unusual measure for this day and age. Hes firing one of New Jerseys Supreme Court Justices and appointing one of his own, one that will closer follow a more conservative path.
A Republican with stones?
It’s a sad state of affairs when we are shocked that a politician actually does what he said he was going to do once in office.
wow......i’m liking this guy already!!
Careful, it might give Obama ideas...
Maybe we won’t be such a laughing stock anymore.
The NJSC was knows as the New Jersey Sopranos Court following the illegal switch of Toricelli for Lousenberg.
Let Obama follow in kind. We’ll never have another leftwing wacko like him in the white house, not in my lifetime, and whomever replaces the kenyan marxist empty suit can fire all of his appointees with grateful thanks of a strong majority of Americans.
WOW!!!
The New Jersey governor has this authority, at certain times. The President does not.
Christie announced today he is removing Justice John E. Wallace and nominating Morris County lawyer Anne Murray Patterson to the seat.
Wallace, 68, is the only black justice on court and is the first member of the court not to be reappointed after an initial seven-year term.
Christie had to choose between reappointing Wallace until he turns 70 on March 13, 2012, or removing him this month from the court.

WOO-HOO! GOVERNOR CHRISTIE ROCKS!!!!
And, he will have the opportunity to nominate or reject at least 3 more sitting justices by 2013, at least one of which is another liberal appointee.

“The New Jersey governor has this authority, at certain times. The President does not.”
You’re referring to the Constitution, right? Since when has that mattered to Obama? Or to the media?
Here’s hoping republican elites NEVER succeed in getting their left-wing, sell-out, pi$$-ant hands on Christie.
And as a personal note, I love it 'cause I'm sure that Meme person (food nazi) that Fox has on sometimes, is about ready to explode because of this guy being such a bad "role model" for our children. (I once heard her call the larger girls on American Idol bad role models because of their weight. Hey, Meme. I'd like to see you get up and sing in front of Simon Cowell.)
Wow! Christie has certainly been a breath of fresh air on the Republican side of the house.
It doesn't matter if he likes it or not. He doesn't have the authority.
Get ready for The RACE Card !!
