When Bob Benette referred to “it”(representation) as his “career”, you knew something wasn’t right...(in more ways than one.)

He probably thought he was gonna sit there inWashington and die in office like Ted Kennedy did, and then we would be left with the Republicans running around in a panic yelping that we need to defend Bob Bennett's seat.

The citizen have decided their representative no longer represent them, so they voted him out. This is normal for any democracy

Time for the old coot to go. He promised to retire after two terms anyway.

Looks like the Republican Party just grew a new vertebrae in Utah. If this trend continues, it just might grow a real backbone!

Visualize 60% Republican majorities in both houses!

60% republicans, but only half on which are on the side of the ppl, while the other half support subsiding big corporations and increase in spending. We need republicans that will actually slash government spending by HALF

Hatch has been plainly shown what the new rules are and what he must do.

On the one hand, I’m thinking, good luck with that, and OTOH I’m thinking, maybe he will get it? Probably not.

Bennett would also be 77 at the time of his election to another six-year term.

It must be a really good gig to want so desperately to keep an office at that age. I'm sensitive to the issue of age discrimination, but it's time for all the septuagenarians and octogenarians to hand over the keys to their Senate offices.

It must be the power of those offices that has corrupted their values. Guys like Bennett and McCain don't understand that they are part of the problem, and the only solution is to retire them against their will.

I didn’t think that a “conservative” such as David Brooks would have much use for a Republican Senator from Utah. Who knew?

We are on Hayek's Road to Serfdom, due to that 'dainty morsel' Von Mises talked about, except that today the dainty morsels have multiplied like bacteria in a septic tank.

Reagan couldn't slash the budget, the Gingrich-led Congress couldn't slash the budget. I wonder, with 3 Trillion in debt, two wars to fight and trouble on the border, if we can somehow think and fight our way out of this mess.
