“It exploded on landing and totally disintegrated,” the security official told AFP....”
“The wreckage could be seen in the distance but no plumes of smoke were evident.”
Interesting that if “totally disintegrated” the wreckage could be “seen in the distance”.
Curious...explosion on landing?
Prayers for all.

On April 21, the airline announced that flights were back to normal after disruptions due to the volcanic ash cloud from Iceland that grounded flights in Europe last month.Engine problems caused by volcanic ash? We'll likely never know for certain, considering it happened in Libya.

Underwear bomber made a successful attempt to blow up a plane filled with whites from South Africa. Is this a possibility? They have figured out how the underwear bomber bomb failed and strived to achieve a successful attempt. Now watch more planes blow up just prior to landing.

Hmmm wonder if a bomb was placed in the landing gear or tires....Then the force of touching the ground detinated it?????? Any way to test for that?

Most of North Africa was shut down to air travel yesterday due to volcanic ash.
Guess there's more than one way to blow up your engines and stuff!

Most of North Africa was shut down to air travel yesterday due to volcanic ash. Really? What is going on on that front today, where is the cloud?

Prayers up.
You should ask the Mods to add (Libya) after Tripoli in the title so as to avoid confusion with Tripoli, Lebanon.

There was no immediate indication of the cause of the crash, .... The crew members were all Libyan nationals, the official added.

Flight from Johannesburg crashes less than a month before the World Cup, the timing is suspicious.

Geert Wilders is Dutch. I don’t like the sound of this. Wonder who the Dutch people on the flight were - members of Geert’s Freedom Party perhaps?

Reading info on a couple of commercial pilot message boards about it...it’s sandstorm season in Libya, and visibility was supposedly low due to fog/haze at the time of the accident. The runway used doesn’t have an instrument landing system approach, just older VOR and NDB approaches that don’t provide vertical guidance.
