Sarah Palin is Alive!

Longtime readers know that, while there is much that I admire about Sarah Palin, I am still on the fence about any notion that she should run for president....

***

I understand why they are overprotective; no politician in my memory has ever been subjected to the inarguable savaging that Palin endured after her remarkably effective speech at the ‘08 GOP convention. As Camille Paglia rightly noted at the time, Palin’s natural abilities were so obvious, and so terrifying to the left, that their phasers were instantly set to “obliterate.” The left still can’t believe she has not been dissolved.

Having said all of that, it needs to be pointed out once again that Sarah Palin on a stage–straight up and unfiltered–is One. Powerful. Presence.

She may drop her g’s and she may get a little guttural when she is enthusiastic, and yeah, she may even get a little shrill, here and there, but listen to this audio, and that staccato delivery; you cannot ignore the fact that Palin is a feisty roman candle of a woman; in a world full of dead things* flowing with the stream Sarah Palin is alive! She is wide-awake with that peculiar American Genius that has nothing to do with SAT scores and Ivy Leagues. And she dares others to swim against the stream of kneejerk, unilateral moves from the establishment.

More importantly, Palin is right.

Once she gets out on the campaign trail.. she is really going to roll, she has that kind of starpower and charisma that Mitt Romney could only dream of having.

So true. People forget that. Right now it’s all abstract and poll numbers. Wait till those debates and rallies. God bless her and protect her.

Full context on the intro:

"Longtime readers know that, while there is much that I admire about Sarah Palin, I am still on the fence about any notion that she should run for president.

My reservations stem in part from some of Palin’s own moves, but it may be her base that really sours me on her; not even mild and constructive criticism, rendered with a dollop of sympathy can be endured by some members of Palin’s over-protective base.

But Palin’s base needs to calm down a little, and realize that when they act like the rightwing version of gaga-eyed Obamabots, they’re not helping their candidate. There is no such thing as a “perfect” person, certainly no such thing as a “perfect” politician, and when I hear someone refer to Palin as “my Sarah,” or I get an email from someone for daring to criticize “our Sarah,” I frankly want to puke. Such emails do not convince me to “love” Sarah Palin, they actually make me distrust her political viability all the more, because I distrust emotionalism in politics."

She is THE CONSERVATIVE WARRIOR... She is a beautiful woman, dedicated Mom, brilliant leader, loyal wife and she has bigger balls and is a bigger man than any other politician alive today.

I figured Palin supporters could read the insults themselves...I wasn't going to post a claim of any comparison whatsoever to the moochers, looters and worshipers of the Kenyan.

They get enough of that here.

There is nobody on this side of the planet who can out campaign Sarah Palin. Nobody. The only person that comes close is Obama. That is why I think she has the best chance to beat him.

She is like a live electrical wire on the campaign trail. and she has charisma. She will be the military mom. She will be very patriotic. The other guys won’t last very long on the same stage with her.

He is a rock star in Michigan, can't go into a 7-11 without someone asking for his autograph. The guys in the plants love him, and the water cooler talk is does he have a political career..

The out-of-the-box V.P. for Sarah...

“There is nobody on this side of the planet who can out campaign Sarah Palin.”

Which is precisely why I have been predicting for some time that she will win both Iowa and New Hampshire. She is the greatest retail politician I have ever seen, better even than Reagan who I saw several times on the stump before he became President. Iowa and New Hampshire both place a premium on retail politics. Any poll that shows Huck or Romney leading her is a conversation piece, nothing more. It is the same as if I looked at Napoleon’s Army before Waterloo; Pickett’s undefeated divisions on the morning of July 3, 1863; the French army in April 1940 before the blitzkrieg; the Turkish fleet before the battle of Lepanto in 1571.

In every instance, they looked formidable to invincible. And in every instance, they were routed. Why? BECAUSE THERE HAD BEEN NO BATTLE.

Any opponent of Sarah Palin can be (made to look) formidable with an early poll (though none among this crowd could be made to look invincible). Why? BECAUSE THERE HAS BEEN NO CAMPAIGN. Anyone who is honest with himself will admit that neither Huck, Romney nor any of the seven dwarfs can hold a candle to Sarah Palin as a retail campaigner. That is the name of the game, especially in the early states. This nomination fight(if you want to call it that)will not be close. It will not be long either. She will for all practical purposes clinch it in early February, 2012.

Hear! Hear!

You’re so right! There hasn’t been a battle or a campaign!

The others can only dream about attracting crowds one quarter of the size she attracts.

Star Traveler has a wonderful photo of her that says or implies “Bring it on!”

Rock star in Eastern Michigan. Never hear anyone talk about him on the West Side. Remember, ‘side’ businessmen rarely work out without a whole state exposure, ie., Dick DeVos.

Let me go on record as saying that while I’m a Sarah fan, I’m pretty clear headed. I agree that some of her supporters may be a bit too passionate, but I can’t blame them. I agree that she’s not perfect, but she’s still a good person and pretty conservative.
