Kerry Lieberman’s Clean Coal Hole In The Ground – Just Throw In Money

When Senators Kerry and Lieberman say the phrase 'Clean Coal', I feel like screaming. They give the impression that if they throw enough money at it, then it can be made to work. Why don't they get someone to explain what Carbon Capture and Sequestration really entails, and then maybe they'll see that the scale of something like this will mean that it is one dream too far, and will probably never be realised.

Meanwhile, a Bush clean coal project in Tampa is now online and producing outstanding results. Read about it here. Since the efficiency has gone way up, it might actually produce lower cost electricity, instead of skyrocketing costs that Obama wants.

Tell me once again what's the reason for increasing the energy costs and rationing energy for Americans?

This plant was built so that it would output lower sulfur emissions. They convert the sulfur to sulfuric acid and sell it.

It does not capture carbon dioxide. Kerry-Lieberman is not talking about real pollution like sulfur dioxide. Clean coal to them means wasting energy on capture and sequestration of carbon dioxide.

Also...this plant is not efficient. 30% of it’s output is used in the oxygen plant for the gasifier.

Process is independant of quackery global warming CO2 sequestration, but such lunacy can be added to the overall process when the Dimocraps legislate their C02 mandates.

PRB vs Pristine(TM) coal is compared at link, and 10% boiler efficiency increase is rather substancial, but I am curious what the overall picture looks like (losses?).

The coal gasification process is about 30% more efficient than the normal coal burn. The other elements that are siphoned off are just gravy. That is if the EPA and the US government is to be believed -- Which I do admit under the Obama regime is open to question.

You get your info from Soros?
