“Is There Really a Difference Between the Parties Any More?”

I didn’t used to think so but the GOP is starting to piss me off less than usual, thanks to the TEA party.

That depends on what GOP you are referring to... the idiotic, aging, democrat-Lite, backroom-dealing pansies, or the new, conservative, America-first patriots who don’t give a damn about political correctness, the rights of illegals, or anything else that weakens our country.

Not nearly enough difference. Compare two forced unionization bills in Michigan. One by a republican and one by a democrat, one passed and another introduced this week. (BTW, Jason Allen is challenging Dan Benishek for the GOP nomination to run in the 1st district. (the stupak seat))

House Bill 6195 (Authorize unionization of home personal assistance providers )

Introduced by Rep. Bert Johnson (D) on May 19, 2010, to empower the state to unionize 42,000 individuals hired by elderly or disabled Medicaid recipients to provide personal care services in their homes. These providers are not employees of the state, so the bill uses the legal device of creating a shell government “employer” that would transfer some $6.6 million in Medicaid money annually to the SEIU union (considered the “union dues” for these workers). The bill would also recognize in statute a “Michigan Quality Community Care Council,” which would create the shell corporation "employer" through an "interlocal agreement" with three counties. Note: A Mackinac Center

lawsuit

is pending regarding a similar arrangement imposed on home day care providers without the statutory authorization that this bill would provide.

They're doing exactly the same thing they did with child care workers and the monetary tally of money to the SEIU is at some 13 million dollars in Michigan alone.

On Aug. 5, 2009, Sen. Jason Allen, R-Traverse City, introduced Senate Bill 731, which would give statutory cover to a scheme transferring approximately $6.6 million in taxpayer money annually to the SEIU government employee union, one of the parents of ACORN. This is accomplished by creating a shell government "employer" for some 42,000 individuals who are actually hired by elderly or disabled Medicaid recipients to provide personal care services in their homes. A Mackinac Center lawsuit is pending regarding a similar arrangement imposed on home day care providers.

Snip

passing the bill was part of a quid-pro-quo between Senate Republicans and the SEIU for union support of former state representative Mike Nofs in a November 2009 special election, which state Republican Party Chair Ron Weiser had characterized as among the party's top priorities. Day observes that the SEIU endorsed Nofs on August 22nd, two weeks after SB 731 was introduced, and sent four full-time workers to help on his campaign.

GOP Senators, SEIU Taxpayer Giveaways, Campaign Cash and More, OH MY!

There will never be a difference between these two corrupted parties until the guy/gal next door becomes our state, us rep or senator. We continue to elect bullshit politicians and look what that gets us ? The average farmer should be helping to write laws for agriculture, the accountant down the street should be on the banking finance committee, people who know about the subject they preside over should be running for Congress. However, we continue to elect moronic lawyers. Since when did anyone trust a lawyer ? Think about it.

Also, we must demand higher standards of ourselves if we want to get higher standards out of Washington D.C.

There is a difference...

If you want to vote for a pre-1968 democrat...vote for the modern day GOP..

If you want to vote for a pure Marxist communist, then the modern day Democrat party is your ticket.

I really hate how weak the Republicans in the Senate play the game. RATs challenged EACH AND EVERY ONE of President Bush’s nominations. It didn’t matter who they were, what they were being nominated for or anything else. They WERE CHALLENGED!!!

Here is a substantially liberal nomination and we don’t even speak out against her. Instead, we play the nice man’s game again and talk about how the President gets to choose his people and history has shown the elections have consequences, so Republicans in Congress will roll over and give their consent.

Sickening....

Yes. It’s kind of like the difference between lung cancer and pneumonia. Both can make you short of breath and put your life at risk, but you have a reasonable chance of recovering from pneumonia.

We may not always get the level of conservatism and support of traditional American values from Republicans but make no mistake -- there is a tremendous difference between the Socialist Democrat Party and the Republican Party, our only effective alternative to the Left that is temporarily in power in America.

The Dem-Republican Good Cop-Bad Cop con routine is the longest running, most successful play of that con anywhere in the world.

The real game is DC versus Flyover Country. It does’nt come to an end until all in Flyover Country finally get it. IMHO, they are just starting to wake up

It makes no difference. A liberal, communists, Marxist, anti-American, anti-Constitution, they all are the same. America is done unless we dump all of them and start over with new blood. We can do with at least 2/3 less Federal Government and 1/2 of State shi!. They have done very little to build good inventive moral self reliance Americans. America is infested with cheats, criminals, cruel, selfish humans. Darn I hate feeling this way but look what America has become.

Not this 3rd Party $#@# again.....

YES there is a difference! The Republican Party has never been perfect, and no party will ever be all things to all people. That's impossible.

Look at any vote tally on black & white issues hot topic issues and see how the Republicans vote. Then tell me there is no difference.

Our job, be you Tea Partier or Reagan Conservative is to be the moral compass for them - to remind them of the we can cut their career short if any of them veer too far left.

There is one significant difference, IMO.

What the Dems are ardent to enact, the Repubs can live with.

What the Repubs are ardent to enact, the Dems cannot.

My. How tolerant.

Yes

As bad as some of our RINOs are, as yes they are bad, they still fall way short of the flat out evilness that is the Democrat party.

Sure many/most in the Republican party are corrupt and only care about getting re-elected just like the Democrats, but the difference is the Democrats also want to control everybody and destroy everything that made this country great.

Remember the Democrats started as the party of slavery and to this day nothing has changed.

Anyone who says "there's no difference between the two parties" after witnesing the last year & a half of non-stop daily assaults on the very foundations of this country under one-party rule by the Democrats is either smoking something or doesn't have a brain left to screw up by smoking something.

All of the nutty legislation to expand the federal government, destroy private enterprise & nationalize industries, bankrupt the treasury, eponentially expand the deficit to make future generations indentured serfs & hack mercilessly away at our individual freedoms which had been effectively bottled up in committee by Republicans for the last decade came pouring out once the dems came to complete power.

And most here would contend "they're all the same"? The utter inanity of that cavalierly mindless sentiment is what gave the dems unchecked power in this country in the first place.

But, hey, it's still a relatively free country for now. Go ahead & vote third party & splinter up conservatives' power so the dems can continue to enjoy a field unencumbered by any impediment whatsoever to their agenda, so that they may continue assaulting our freedoms and condemning everybody's kids & grandkids & all unborn generations to lives of economic & social servitude to their masters in government, living in grave peril under the banner of a nation that has become to weak to defend herself from the world's worst bad guys.

Just don't do so & expect anybody else who isn't smoking anything to buy the boatload of caca that you are in any way shape or form a 'conservative' who is worried about the survival of this republic.

There will always be a difference between the ‘ideologies’ of the two parties.

The MSM and NEA have been making titanic efforts to blur the line and to some extent have succeeded. Why not, with the deck is stacked in THEIR favor??

Additionally…. the differences BETWEEN politicians has become hopelessly blurred. This trend has been both intentional and inadvertent.

Politicians have themselves fueled the confusion in order to manipulate and further exploit voters.

The MSM has capitalized on the disorder and lack of clarity (instead of researching/reporting on it) to advance the Liberal agenda.

The NEA has been hard at work to force a literal hemorrhage of ideologies and views, to cast the hard won, just and demonstrably efficient American two-party system as something of an unholy and illicit political form…and in the process they created an everlasting and fierce class animosity the likes of which this country has NEVER seen!!!

All this the NEA and MSM have done in a way absolutely incompatible with their professional honor and traditional roles in this society! Their arrogance and culpability are unforgivable.

They have recklessly abused their place in this society to capitalize on the confusion and discord. They are squandering EVERYTHING Americans have always worked and fought for.

For shame! Next election, remember THIS too!!
