Sir Paul McCartney – The (New) Fool On The Hill?
Grand Rants ^ | 06/04/2010 | Gerry Ashley

Yeah, I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER.

YESTERDAY (or was it, perhaps, THE NIGHT BEFORE?), Sir Paul McCartney was feted at The White House by President Obama (well, SOMETHING had to lure him to GET BACK to the White House and certainly neither Memorial Day nor FIXING A HOLE in the Gulf of Mexico were cause enough to do it).

But throw a tribute for Paul McCartney for winning the Library of Congress Songwriter Award and… well, that’s all the HELP we needed to get THE FOOL ON THE HILL back to the White House. Seriously, does that really rank higher than Memorial Day or the Gulf Oil Spill?

All McCartney had to do was show up at the White House (he did), smile(he did), eat some bad food (I assume he did), suck up to the President and the first lady (Did he EVER!), say thanks for the award and then leave. But Sir Paul just HAD to get political and show his ignorance. Take the title "Sir" and replace it with "Cheap Shot". Truth in advertising, don't you know...

Paul gets a pass from me after he organized the concert for 911. And because of all the great music.

He probably heard it from his liberals friends because of that, and he knew he'd better get his "mind right."

I’ll give Paul a pass because at least he roots for Everton, and not that other Liverpool team.

Just another lefty out of touch with the real world. Time to go out to pasture. He should have retired when he was 64 so that stupid 64 song wouldn’t be looking back in time to younger days.

"Paul gets a pass from me after he organized the concert for 911 and because of all the great music."

Judas Iscariot was one of Jesus' original disciples before he was bribed and became the world's most infamous betrayer.

Does he get "a pass" for his previous service?

At least Jude the Dude got thirty pieces of hard currency as a bribe. McCartney, the capitalist socialist, got a stage and honors at the White House, a free dinner, a hug from Michelle.....and a rousing ovation from the assembled decadents in the audience.

In return, he paid back his bribing host and the applauding, salivating decadents in the audience with a cheap and cowardly shot at a good man not there to defend himself.

No pass from me.

Just because someone has some God Given talent and was fortunate enough to make tons of money, doesn't give him the right to be disrespectful to OUR COUNTRY AT OUR WHITE HOUSE.

Just another arrogant, Liberal elitist who shows his complete lack of class and lack of intelligence.

I think organizing a concert for 911...so soon after...and when all were afraid to leave their houses is much more service oriented and sustaining than a few words said at the white house.

Way to go, Leni... that sums it up perfectly. McCartney took a cheap shot at a man who wasn’t there. The only song he deserved to sing after that was “I’m A Loser (And I’m NOT What I Appear To Be).” Of course, when you stop and realize he was feted by a man who won a Nobel Peace prize for simply showing up, I guess it all just about makes sense!
