I think he is still jealous that John is seen as the more “political” and “edgy” one. But Paul actually has (had) a relatively large, mainstream audience, which he just insulted.
Yup, he definitely insulted me. And he showed me way too much about himself, too.

Did you perhaps notice that smug "There! Take That!" look on his face as he walked off and just before the camera left him and panned back to the podium? He looked very self-satisfied.
I was an Elvis fan and a fan of the music of the fifties and sixties in general but I was never a Beatles fan. To my ear their music sounded like racket, plain and simple. I never understood the mania with which others seemed to be inflicted.
