Republican Good Ol'Boys: "Hey, let's make Sarah Palin RNC Chairman"
TheCypressTimes.com ^ | 07/05/2010 | Gary P.

Posted on 07/05/2010 6:56:00 AM PDT by Patriot1259

You really have to laugh at these Republican establishment types. These “good old boy” characters couldn’t be more pathetic if they tried.

As you know, Michael Steele has once again opened mouth and inserted foot. Full disclosure, I like Michael Steele. I don’t have bad feelings for the guy. But he’s proven that being the Chairman of the RNC isn’t the best use of his talents. This latest flap is way overblown, however. He’s said worse.

Anyhow, this isn’t about bashing Michael Steele. Nope, this is all about exposing the pathetic milquetoast moderates and their silly notions.

With all of the calls for Steele to step down, the establishment seems to think they have an idea: Replace Steele with Sarah Palin. No, I’m serious here. Kevin D. Williams writing for National Review Online came up with this...

Exactly right. The charge is being led by Mitt’s folks. And don’t be surprised to see Huckabee jump on the bandwagon, too.

“BTW Palin would be the perfect choice for leader of GOP. There should be no discussion”

......and as President of the United States she will be!

Keep dreaming. The Repub party is weak and run by weaklings. And it's like trying to herd cats. McPain was our last nominee. You think the Good Ole Boys will allow Sarah to be the nominee? Pffft. And the press has done an excellent job as the DNC mouthpiece. I think that SP could make the Republican Party a force to be reckoned with.....as the head of the Party. THEN as Potus.

Sorry boyzzzzzz... PRESIDENT Palin will be a bit too busy to run the rnc... perhaps Ken Blackwell should be the man... he should have won it the first time.

Actually who could do a better job of rallying the GOP this fall? She wont and should not take it. But that does not mean she should not be discussed for this job.

I can’t believe that so many posters think the weak Good Ole Boy Republicans would even let Palin be the Presidential nominee.

...with Sarah as Republican Party leader, (she IS a republican) she would draw a lot of different people back to the party.

Just wait 'til Sarah announces her candidacy for the 2012 nomination. You'll see people flocking to the Republican party like nails to a magnet.

Sarah's already the defacto leader of the Republican party because no one but her is really doing the job. She doesn't need to change a thing she's doing, to continue being as effective as she is.

When the rubber meets the road, most center-right voters will resist the lure of third parties and stand with the Republicans anyway. I don't fear third parties. Our side learned a huge lesson in the 1992 election about splitting our votes, and we're not likely to repeat that mistake any time soon.

She has enough sense to stay far away from that thankless job.

Plus it’d be a major step down for her (after being Governor).

Most importantly, she’d make sure that the party was re-established as a conservative one at all levels.

Problem is that the RNC does not work like that, and its chairman is not the final decision maker, as in the DNC. The RNC chairman answers to a board comprised of all the GOP bigshots, who can veto and diminish the chairman at will before finally casting him or her off when convenient. The only reason that Steele has survived so long is because of his ethnicity and the fear of the MSM's inevitable backlash, stoked by the Rats.

Palin would do very poorly as RNC chairwoman simply because she would not be the party's true shot-caller.

The weak good ol' boys ain't going to have much of say in the matter during the primaries----which is Sarah's clear strategy based on the calculated moves and endorsements she's making right now.

You can't see that?

Those same GOP bigshots won’t let her be the nominee either.

Those bigshots' power is quickly diminishing outside the DC beltway. That's why they are trying to drag her in and trap her there, so that she can't run circles around them out in the country at large, as she is doing now.

To 28 - Actually, the RNC would be too inconspicuous for you. An hour long, prime-time slot on FOX would better suit you. (and I would hope you went by ‘Elizabeth’ rather than ‘Liz’)

One name for ya.....McCain. You actually think, as the party stands today, that we’ll have a say in who runs? And wins the nomination?

Well then, just stay home and stew about it then, if this is what you truly believe.

In the meantime, Obama will enjoy his second term partying, golfing, and playing his pick-up basketball games.

Quite an insulting leap for you just because I disagree with your opinion. I didn't know we had to all agree with you.

Have a nice day.

“The Repub party is weak and run by weaklings. And it’s like trying to herd cats.”

Yes the Republicans are like trying to herd cats because they believe in freedom/Liberty and do not act like the Zoombie Democrats......Its one of our STRENGTHS!

“You think the Good Ole Boys will allow Sarah to be the nominee? Pffft”

They won’t have a choice......You and I select the nominee during the primary elections.....you are voting aren’t you?

“And the press has done an excellent job as the DNC mouthpiece.”

What else is new Capt Obvious?.....and who listens to the MSM except people that aren’t voting for any Republican anyway?

“Republican Party a force to be reckoned with.....as the head of the Party. THEN as Potus.”

Nice attempt at marginalizing Palin! Most would agree that she is doing great right where she’s at. Good thing she keeps her own council, and disregards both your and my advice.

Say hi to Mitt for me!
