Obama Showing Fear With Recess Appointment

The White House announced late Tuesday that President Barack Obama will bypass the Senate and appoint Dr. Donald Berwick to oversee Medicare and Medicaid. This type of recess appointment is nothing new; presidents from both parties have frequently made them. But this particular behind the scenes, out of the spotlight appointment not only gives Dr. Berwick the job, it saves the administration from public hearings that would have renewed the debate on Obamacare.

John Bolton was one of the most qualified people ever to hold the position of UN Ambassador, but the Democrats would never have approved his nomination due to his conservative views. I do not know anything about this particular nominee, but, if he is anything like Obama's other appointees, he is a radical leftist whose views, if exposed by hearings, might be embarrassing to those Democrats who are up for reelection in November.

Once again, President Obama has made a mockery of his pledge to be accountable and transparent.’’

And Senator Pat Roberts, Republican of Kansas, added: “Once again, the Obama administration is going behind closed doors out of fear the American people will learn that Dr. Berwick plans to use rationing as a cost-cutting tool to achieve the billions of dollars in cuts to Medicare called for in the health care reform bill.’’
