Barack Obamas recess appointment of Dr. Donald Berwick as head of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) marks a new low in his destructive presidency, and that is saying something!
and that’s why we are moving out of the US early next year. That’s why our doctor is “retiring” and moving out of the US also.
What will “opting out of Medicare B” do for seniors?
This is why all available energy should have been expended to stop this mess.
Once in place, it will be nearly impossible to eliminate. As we speak, I am certain that bureaucracies are being planned, office space set up, and people hired on a large scale.
It will be a fait accompli when some entity gets around to doing something about it, and it will be too late.
All this talk about “rolling it back” and “defunding” it are just that...talk. The liberals have the camel’s nose in the tent, and are behind it pushing with all their might using immigration, climate reform and union friendly legislation as rams.
And they hope (with justification) that the battering rams will have enough momentum to get their own noses into the tent as well.
In NFL parlance, they are “flooding the zone” with ultra-liberal legislation before the American populace understands the peril it is in.
Medicare Part A is things covered when you are an inpatient.
Medicare Part B is everything that would ever be covered when you are an outpatient. Xrays, labs, physical therapy, home health aides, etc. This is where the government hopes to reap all of its "savings".
And they may not do it by coming right out and honestly saying you can't have an MRI of the knee.
They are simply going to restrict payment for imaging services to the point you are going to have to wait eight months to get one because a) fewer imaging centers will be available and b) staffing will be cut back to the point hours will be restricted.
They won't say you can't have the MRI. They just will make it nearly impossible to get one. So people with acute issues will take up all available scanner time, and people limping around on a possibly torn meniscus or ripped ACL will, well, limp around for a while.
These people are evil. Evil, evil, evil. It brings AGAIN to my mind, the famous quote by C.S. Lewis:
"...Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience..."
Government-paid abortion, aids treatment, sex “change” operations and euthanisia for the elderly.
Refusal of treatment for the elderly.
Free treatment for all “downtrodden” minorities, paid for by the kind contributions of the people who founded this country and built it up.
It just occurred to me that one of the real problems we face as we keep CS Lewis’ famous quote in mind, is that the current crop of liberals and their enablers are not only robber barons but ALSO omnipotent moral busybodies.
And THAT, Houston, is a problem.
If he goes up in flames, he’ll end up where he and his ideology belong, in the ash pit of history.
We’re out within the next five years. Say what you like about France, but French people would never tolerate anyone interfering with their doctors, and they are not afraid to riot to show they’re unhappy with their government.
For the record: In France, all services are provided by private physicians. House calls are still made.
Hmmmmmmm....One wonders how this might affect those retired military personnel who have Tri-Care and Medicare B..???
Berwick will end up in the flames of hell after he is purposely sent there with the rest of his czar colleagues.
Only if the populace refuses to vehemently object.
Cost Rica?
Other?
Good for you, smart move, but France isn’t for me. way too many Muslims and I’ve been there twice and couldn’t wait to leave. Plus it’s too far from home and this will always be home. I’m heading South and no, not Mexico. A constitutional republic, great health care, and the only country that told the Marxist in chief to piss off, that he had no rights to any access to their bank accounts.
Why?
How awesome and steadfast you are. Cut and run. Great strategy.
For Poosies. Pack lots of Motrin.
I’m pretty sure I know which country you’re talking about, and I approve of your choice. It was my second choice, mainly because I’ve been to France and have not been to the country to which you refer. Best of luck in your new home.
Excellent post!
Good question. I would expect those people, the least of who should be treated in this way, will be hung out to dry.
