Start NOW!! I have not owned any, in over a 25 year span of time, but because of the upswing of things, I have attended CCW classes (I’m silent on the rest of that), and have found a few ‘good ones’ at a fair price.

If you are not one for a handgun, (no points taken for that), try this ... the good ol’ cowboy lever-action rifle, many styles, many choices. It will do as advertised, as it has since 1892!

But get one before this happens, for now you still have a choice!!!

“it will never be ratified by the Senate so it will be another waste of time.”

nuf said, end of story.

N.F.Way!

I am an American citizen. I am a Viet Vet. I worked for DoD, later. I was the Office Operations Supervisor, in Portland, Or., for Census 2000. I am a Hurricane Katrina survivor. I am now writing this to you. I have worked in the belly of the beast, and know it is detestible.

Yes, I have a sign-on, but it is habit, after working with computers, first mainframes, then desktops, and now laptops, long enough that these things are now playtoys.

I would agree. Although its completely irrational any sort of gun ban would play very badly in rank/file dem circles. In my end of the world there are plenty of dems who would spit blood if their weapons were banned. So, if Barry and his DC shills did get to the point where they had the votes or feel they could play the ‘deem’ game I think Things would go very very badly in a big hurry.

Tah, Dah!

I didn’t want to post all that but you did a fine job with a Google search.

You need 66 Senators and they are never going to find 66 senators.

67 actually, assuming there are 100 Senators present.

Wait a minute, now that I think of it, they could “Deem it”.

Using their contorted logic they would only need 2/3rds of the votes cast, not 2/3rds of the entire Senate.(Not Constitutional but hey, they can make me do business with a company I don’t already do business with)

> I’ve never owned a gun in my life, but if this was clearly being attempted I would buy many.

And a lot of people want to wait to buy flood insurance until the water is up to the first porch step. Recommend that you reevaluate your perspective immediately and make a purchase NOW.

Exactly, buy TWO of every type (Sport utility Rifle, sidearm, etc) and stash one set away as a Tyranny insurance policy.

The powers that be should be well aware that there is NO WAY they will be able to grab ALL of our guns.

Me, myselfs I no longer have ANY guns – my boat ran over a pile of guns in the lake and sank and I lost all of them.

If every law-abiding citizen had a gun, the Marxists would realize that any gun ban would be no more than masturbatory futility.

But since they LIKE that sort of thing...

Sadly, most people would not revolt. We as a nation generally lead very comfortable lives and most people would not want to disrupt that. It takes more than owning a firearm to create a revolution. You need to be able to use it, as well as explosives, with gut turning effectiveness.

Until most people in this nation are willing to watch the news and see another Oklahoma city style bombing and say “thank god” and pray that whoever did it lives to strike again, we as a country will not be ready for a revolution. It’s ugly and messy, and a person has to be ready to do terrible things in the name of it. I don’t think most people are willing to go that far over a firearm. Too many people view firearms as mere possessions and have willingly accepted infringements worse than what drove people to arms in the past.

No Problem. You were correct about the Constitution not being trumped by treaties. A later poster posted some links via google about treaties and the Constitution.

I am glad to be wrong about that.

Take care.

Thanks for posting the links. These clear up a lot of confusion for me on me about treaties and the Constitution.

>This Senate would probably ratify it...<

Then we’ll have to add Senators to the acceptable target list.
