I think Andrew Jackson had a quote for a situation like this:

Obama "has made his decision; now let him enforce it!"

Agree..... Even if it has to be ratified by two thirds of congress doesn’t it ?

People need to calm down....an make ready to vote with a few hundred of their conservative friends in November.

I'm very familiar with unintended consequences.

I haven't swayed in my belief that most people are not willing to kill to keep their guns. The biggest threat to your firearms will be the nosy neighbor, school board members, well-meaning friends, etc. who will sell you out. Revolution means preventing them from doing so. Most people won't do that.

If you think that people with small arms can wage a revolution then that just isn't very likely. Revolution also means the use of explosives with terrible consequences.

I see right here on FR whenever there is a story about a cop being shot or a load of guns being seized where freepers laud the seizure or are quick to condemn the shooter without looking deeper into the story and being willing to open themselves up to the idea that maybe it was a good thing if it was to prevent the police from taking someones guns, or that the seizure was wrong and the person would have been justified in using deadly force to prevent it. Instead there are 100 replies in a few minutes buying into the state approved line.

It will not be a politician that comes for your guns, it will be your local police. When you talk about revolution, you are talking about acts that the majority of people condemn without a second thought. That mentality is what will make successful revolution impossible.

Ask yourself: When you head about the cops that were shot in Miami recently, were you outraged and did you think that it was a terrible thing, or did you stop and check to see if they were involved in the seizure of guns or violation of anyone’s rights, and think “thank god?” Unless you are willing to do the latter then any talk of resisting the seizure of arms by force is just internet talk.

Ban guns? Ban bill of rights?

I hope they try. My "list" is getting long. Alot of commies in my area will be taking dirt naps 24 hours after that balloon goes up.

Jess - in all sincerity that was one of the best posts I've read on FR in quite some time. Those are exactly the questions I'd like answered. For me I guess it comes down four or five amendments in the BOR. If any one of those are taken away, I'm all in for the 3rd box.

FRegards,

Ones and twos, seizures and "raids" that is, here and there, is a whole different kettle of fish than mass confiscations.

BTW, I need to buy some ammo off ya soon...Might need a few boxes of .45/70 too, if you have some...thats my fun gun...hehehe

??Ammo, what ammo, it fell off the boat with the guns. Never did have any .45/70, and only had enough of the other stuff for personal use, no more than 1K of anything, except .22LR of course. Heck I can't find any .45 Colt. I only want a box or two, to test fire a the S&W revolver of a friend of my wife, which she wants sold. (She has her .38 and is happy with that. Don't know why she doesn't give it, or the .357 Dan Wesson, to her husband... on second thought, maybe I do. :) )

My hogs need feeding...

Lot of that going around. Must be a big shortage of hog feed, with all that corn and soybeans going to make burning alcohol. (Yea, I know, they can do both, since making the alky leaves the protein for the pigs).

They don’t need 2/3. They only need 2/3 of senators PRESENT at the time of the vote.

But there must be a majority present to do business. Still 1/3 +1 could pass the treaty, worst case.

you think they can’t find 34 existing democrats to vote in favor of this? If they can do obamacare and bailouts against our will, they can do this as well.

If i leave my garage door open, my neighbors come tell me about it, before anything disappears. The ammo's all out there, in green ammo cans (and a few black 25mm ammo containers), well except for some loose packed 5.56 and .30 Carbine I don't yet have cans for, but which also has not been opened since it arrived.

Of course my neighbors mostly wear digital camo, or their departed husbands wore other sorts of green outfits, back in the day. In the case I'm thinking of, it was the older lady, maybe younger than me, but still older for the neighborhood, that came to tell me. Lots of kids, none of which would dare take the stuff, for fear of the impact on their backsides if they did. The kids are black, Puerto Rican, asian of some sort, and the little nasty gal next door, both of her parents wear ACUs, is white.

The guy on the other side is a senior NCO, and is black. With my schedule and theirs, I don't really see them very often, but today I exchanged waves with him. His wife is a somewhat ditsy redhead, at least last time I looked she was a red head, but her coloration is right for that anyway.

I'm sure they can. But I'm not sure they've got the testicular fortitude to actually do it. They might though. Especially if they can do it during a lame duck session with many of the 34 retiring, or from districts where it would not hurt them.

Until someone shoots their ash, that is.

You very well may have better nieghbors than most of us...

Most of mine are head in the sand, fluffy clouds in a bright sky crowd...All you need is love...

Whats funny is I think there is a time for that mentality...But now is not the time...

You actually trust these carpetbaggers in DC to follow the constitution ? How many times does the USSC have to rule on the 2nd Amendment to stop infringements upon it ?

“You actually trust these carpetbaggers in DC to follow the constitution ? “

Did I say that? NO!!! But I don’t see anybody anywhere holding DC or Daley’s feet to the fire. As long as they can get away with delaying and thumbing their noses at the rulings, we have a major problem. There needs to be injunctions threatening them with serious fines and jail time.

Do you see that happening? In the absence of that, there will be miniscule steps of lawsuit here lawsuit there further delaying true 2nd rights. Remeber Little Rock and U of Alabama? It’ll take action like that to get Constitutional rights for DC and Crookland (IL).

In the meantime, hope that the four conservatives + Kennedy survive until a conservative gets to be Prez.

As with anything things have to come to a head in order to get them fixed, its always that way. The liberals will always try to erode the 2nd Amendment ,regardless of the recent rulings, until something happens that drives them back into their holes.

I read this particular legislation about a year ago and there is a line in the bill stating it cannot undermine the constitution of any signatory country.

And that line would never be edited out of the final draft...

Bills have passed "by acclamation" with only three senators present (thanks Bob Dole) but a treaty, I don't know.

Still won’t suffer through the treaty clause of the Constitution.
