...Democrats are realizing that Americans do not want a cap and trade bill and the devastating economic effects that would go along with it. In response, Dems are dropping the term cap-and-trade to try and spin the bill in a new way.
Senate Democrats hired Drew Westen, an expert at discovering political messaging which tugs at the heart strings of American voters. He told policy makers to create patriotic and national defense themes in order to gather support for energy proposals.
These desperate actions are the last ditch efforts of a dying proposal. Reid and the Democratic Congress do not seem to understand that America does not want this bill because it would increase taxes, destroy jobs and increase the cost of energy for businesses and individuals.
It can be repackaged and reworded, but the cap and trade bill still remains disastrous to America’s future.

Here in Indiana, the tv commercials they use to promote CapNTax feature a recently returned Iraq war vet.
The leftists have some good strategies to push their evil ideas.
If there were any value in cap and trade, they wouldn’t need to seek ways of lying to the American people in hopes of fooling us into supporting it.
Except now they’ll have more money taken from the American taxpayer rather than borrowed from China, just in case the Chinese ever decide to stop buying treasuries.
Let me guess, they will name it the “Save the Cute Fuzzy Bunnies Act”.

Are these jokers serious? Harry Reid- the guy who said the “War is Lost” and dumped all over the troops- is going to create a “patriotic” message?
I think they would’ve been better hiring Naomi Wolf advising them to all wear “earth-toned Dockers” and become alpha-males..
You can’t even imagine. It is estimated that this plan will create a $10 TRILLION a year “carbon credits” trading scheme. The Chicago Climate Exchange will control ALL of the carbon credit trading and Franklin Raines (of Freddie Mac) owns the copyrights of the software that everyone will be forced to buy and use. Al Gore has his hands in it and stands to make billions under cap and trade but nothing if a carbon tax is passed. Guess which scheme Gore is supporting.
This is without a doubt the biggest fraud racket ever devised and the biggest players are ALL faithful Rats. Every one of them ought to be rounded up, tried for fraud, corruption, theft, and treason and then shot.
Criminals have taken over the Rat party and now protect each other from prosecution. And they have so much power that there is no way to fix this country using legal means.
Meanwhile the stupid party is clueless and divided. Someone needs to step up and run against this as the number one issue and forget even talking about anything else.

Congress, PARTICULARLY Dems, typically get bad legislation passed by giving it some patriotic sounding name to disguise what it is. The Dems never run for election based on who they are or what they'll do, they lie through their teeth to get their drooling, brain-dead sycophants to elect them. So, again, how is a Dem-controlled Congress lying about a bad bill to get it passed different from their normal behavior????

Usually Congress willingly goes along with quotas and import tariffs; these have obvious appeals to localities that deal with a specific commodity, and promote a general populist sentiment.
Cap and Trade doesn’t have a specific appeal to any place. Instead it’s going towards a disparate sect of Environmental extremists, and crooks who are knowingly pushing fraud.
Thus lies must be utilized by Congress to confuse the rest of the American people; whereas in the past Congress told a certain industry, usually in a specific geographic location, what they wanted to hear when restricting a part of commerce. Cap and Trade is much more far reaching.
The word “mafia” means in the original Sicilian dialect ‘safehouse’ I think. Many tight-knit groups like to call themselves a “mafia” now, so it’s lost some of its criminal original meaning. Then again, other ethnic crime groups beyond the cosa nostra use “mafia” also.
I think the real cognate today are Student Progressives on colleges who label whole sections of the campus as “safe spaces” where no dissent is allowed.
In theory, no one is above the law. But in practice, the ruling class almost never pays for their crimes, i.e. Ted Kennedy. Hell, not only do they not pay for them, others in the ruling class protect them and then promote them.
Lawrence Tribe was found out to have not written a book the he supposedly authored. Then it was further found out that the research assistant that wrote it for him plagiarized much of it. The dean of Harvard Law School had a mock investigation, cleared everyone involved, and then sealed the investigation so that no one would know what a sham it was.
That dean is Elena Kagan and Lawrence Tribe is now the dean of Harvard Law School.

Well, that's wrong at the outset. Import tariffs have been enacted a couple of times in the past by Congress as a means of controlling certain nations' access to American markets and each time they were enacted, they backfired and were quietly rolled back.

Thanks, professor, I already know that. Now that we are back on topic again, my original comment related to the comment in parentheses that Congress to Decapitate American Trade With Lies and I posted a reply that essentially asked what else is new?? Virtually EVERYTHING that the Dems do is concealed by lies. So, I ask again, how is this different from what Congress (in general) and the Dems (in particular) NORMALLY do??
