Mary Frances Berry: Racism charges against Tea Party ‘an effective strategy’
Washington Examiner ^ | Matthew Sheffield

Posted on 07/29/2010 3:04:11 PM PDT by RatherBiased.com

Ever since the NAACP began stepping up its attacks on the limited government movement through charges of racism against the Tea Parties, it’s become rather apparent that there was a concerted effort behind this rhetoric.

After reading the words of Mary Frances Berry, one of the more prominent leaders in the far-left black political scene, one need no longer merely surmise this. In an astonishingly frank email to Politico, Berry declares that the tea-partiers-as-racists meme is “an effective strategy for Democrats” despite the fact that she believes “there is no evidence that tea party adherents are any more racist than other Republicans, and indeed many other Americans.”

Here’s the full quote:

“Tainting the tea party movement with the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. There is no evidence that tea party adherents are any more racist than other Republicans, and indeed many other Americans. But getting them to spend their time purging their ranks and having candidates distance themselves should help Democrats win in November. Having one’s opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness.”

The Civil Rights Commission is supposed to be evenly divided with the same number of members from both major parties. She pretended to be an “independent” so that Clinton could appoint her to one of the supposedly Republican seats. I think he did that with one other seat so in effect there were 6 liberal Democrats and 2 Republicans on the commission. It may have gotten back to normal by GWB’s second term.

The racist pigs in the NAACP hate any group that doesn’t participate in the race baiting.

Maybe someone could put this in perspective for me, but, exactly WHO is she preaching to? Conservatives know the TPM is not racist, and followers of Mary Frances Berry are mostly likely NOT going to join the TPM, or vote for a conservative anyway...so I see the whole thing as a wash.

The constant drone of the cries of "racism" is just empowering the conservatives, who outnumber the MF Berry's of the world already.

Why do they insist on cutting off their noses to spite their faces? Wait...I know.....wait for it, wait for it....TV Cameras. Yes.

Race trolling it is, and yes blatent, but it is as the lady says...effective, and it will be as long as there are weakling whites who wish to be what others want, and have no confidence in what lies in their hearts. At this time in our country’s history, whites are probably the least bigoted of any of her ethnicities. We’re also (alas) the most easily intimidated.

Cries of racism work. They got a marxist elected as president.

“To suppress free speech is a double wrong. It violates the rights of the hearer as well as those of the speaker”……Frederick Douglass

“There is another class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs, partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.”… Booker T. Washington …1904 quote

“Racism charges against Tea Party ‘an effective strategy’”

###

Only among smugly progressive, self-hating whites.

Oh wait, there were enough of them around to put an unaccomplished, radical, race Marxist in place as Commander in Chief.....

Why not? 99.9% of the people won't know she said it. She's just talking to her friends. The press won't say anything, and even if they did, how many would get it or care?

Her contempt and cynicism are justified. Sad but true.

But if the Tea Party people take her words to heart, and stop falling into the "I'm not a racist, but..." trap, she will have inadvertently done some good.

Best policy is to laugh and keep talking about what you want to talk about, not their Rope-A-Dope BS issues.

It’s amazing because libs like her very rarely reveal how much they don’t care about the truth when it comes to politics. For the left, deception in the service of the “greater good” is fully justified.

Uhh,

Ok.

But getting them to spend their time purging their ranks

Well, so far I think the actual count (as I recall) is . . . two.

One took a day or two and the other was shooed off in about 15 minutes, before the end of the rally. None have been detected since and I believe no more REAL ones exist.

and having candidates distance themselves should help Democrats win in November.

If their is a candidate that is in opposition to the documented platform of the TEA Party Movement the odds of them being a real Republican are, umm, Zerø.

As far as that helping a communist calling themselves a democrat win this coming November?

They are daydreaming of Ø-bammy land again.

Having one’s opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness.

Well Mizzz Berry, now that you are on the record as throwing false accusations to divert attention to the wrecked economy that started in 2006 (one more time... what happened in `06?) the republicans have been relieved of that 5 minute chore.

Which will be more than enough time for all of us to listen to EVERY glowing success story of introducing socialism / marxism / communism into an existing thriving economy and watching joblessness vanish.

Mizzz Barry?

Woooooo Hoooooo, Mizzz Barry!

We are all waiting Mizzz Barry.

You can start telling us about the wild and out of control success stories of introducing socialism / marxism / communism into an existing thriving economy.

We now have plenty of time...

Mizzz Barry?

The wild and out of control success stories of introducing socialism / marxism / communism into an existing thriving economy?

Just one Mizzz Barry?

.

It sure is. You've got the Tea Party running around in circles. The left manipulates the right with race to do whatever it wants. Most whites are like lemmings when it comes to race.
