...not sure what he means by ‘white supremacy’...but if he means that whites have been more successful than blacks, then he’s right.
I know he’s an academic and would jeopardize his career if he made sense. But I’ve seen Marc Lamont Hill when he’s not throwing around buzzwords. On Fox’s Red Eye, for instance, where he seems like a fun and reasonable guy. Why can’t he be like that all the time?
I know he’s just grabbing attention, but as an exercise I’m going to take him seriously and say, hey, if you want to talk about the corruption of U.S. institutions, or whatever, that’s fine. Let’s assume for the moment that “racism is about power,” and that everyday racism as practiced by all races is irrelevant to political discourse.
Fine, but politics is not all there is. And Obama, however he appears to cops, is not all-black. He has a white mother, which makes him mullato. Mulatoes exist, Dr. Hill. I’m sure your colleagues have written incomprehensible sociological studies on them. You’re unintentionally contradicting “Oreo Like Me: The Mulatto experience in Stutsman County, North Dakota, 1973-1974.” Which I made up, but come on, it probably actually exists.

On his census form, Obama marked that he was black and not of mixed race. Facts are facts and it has nothing to do with how you are perceived by the police.
