A precursor to the start of Obambie’s civilian storm troopers, kind of like The Red Guard?

That was my first thought.

Welcome to socialism. Obama wants to draft Americans to defend his communist programs.

You know, this could actually be the answer to our immigration problem.

Let ‘em in, swear ‘em in, draft ‘em. Watch ‘em leave.

Look at this from the blog.

Slavery is the best word for this. The "hope and change" the "Democratic" Party is bringing the US and the world is, in reality, a change back to the days of the draft and, well, slavery. We can rest assured that there will be Republicans on the political scene that will support the slavery bill in order to further their imperialist, warmongering agendas.

Yes this is a commie's blog. He probably regrets voting for the Kenyan now.

Go do that. We need more volunteers willing to defend this country. That’s why I fear bringing back the draft. Not only will the marxist gov. be controlling your life even more but too many idiotic kids will be America’s defense.

“If Obama does, the hippies will scream for his impeachment.”

Dayam, I thought George Wallace ran over all of dem hippies in ‘68. So they are still around and we got dem comnists runnin our gubment too? Next thing ya know we’ll be buying everything from them ch!nkcomnists and I won’t be able to get parts for my International Harvester tractor or my Dumont black and white TV that I watched the Kent State event and Uncle Wally calling dem Chicago cops a “bunch of thugs” at the Demcrat convention. That’s when I figgered out that the State of Texas needed to revoke his citizenship because he had converted to Yankeeism. I know I kinda rambled across the countryside on this post, but us hicks have to spout off sometimes.

Ha! Rangel has been pushing for this for a long time!

Bringing this up right before the mid-terms means he knows it doesn’t have a prayer after the elections...just like he and Maxine would love to have their trials ASAP.

This is worth the investment in an industrial strength, commercial grade popcorn popper...with coconut oil! lol

I don’t know who comes on this site but I abhor people who shirked the draft during the VietNam War. BTW, my brother served two tours, while you were building your business, A$$h0le.

pardon me for joining into this lovefest - but its a topic I have personal experience with and I'd like to add my small comment.
I was a draftee during the VN war. One of the last in '68. I wound up extending there 2x's and did the equivalent of about 2 tours and some change. In my personal experience there were two types of draftees - one was pissed off, bitter and a PITA to be around in a situation requiring dependability. #2 was a draftee who, while not really wanting to be there - got his $hit in a line and did what had to be done for his life and those of his fellow soldiers.
Just my personal opinion. I also had a long time to think about the difference between those who intentionally avoided the draft and those who were never called up to serve.
IMO they are two (2) different animals. To paint them both with the same brush of shame is a very wrong-headed thing to do. The first is actively pursuing a course of, IMO, dereliction of responsibility. The second is just a result of the draft lottery. Nothing more.
Yeah, I know, you can say "But hell...their number didn't get called they shoulda run down there and signed up!" - to which I respond...BS! Not going to VN was not a hard decision to make if someone had a responsibility to their family or, in this case, a business.
Facts are, even among the happy campers I was with out in the boonies, on any given day, if someone came around and offered free tickets outta there it would have been Able Mike Foxtrot in a NY minute. And we were some serious pro-fessional sneakers and peekers.

So I advise you saving that...A$$h0le...comment for a Bwarney Fwank thread where it might be more approriate. I hope that helps a bit.

One more reason to get that popcorn popper...the only one in the House who seems ro be delusional is Nancy Pelosi.

The operative word being “seems”.

Watch what they do.........not what they say.

Very nice post, and very well said. Very true, historically speaking, too.

Thank you for your service. I truly appreciate it.

He's done this a number of times in past sessions, and the bill goes nowhere.

He's done this in just about every session of Congress for decades now. He's just grandstanding again, as he, and anyone with two functioning brain cells knows will never be passed. And, as usual when he pulls this garbage, someone takes it seriously....

Rangel has been pulling this same stunt almost since 2003 or so.

As I recall, he pulled it during the Clinton administration, as well, so he's been doing it quite literally for over a decade...

I Agree that there should be some kind of required service after high school.

Every high school graduate should be required to spend two years in military service. The handicapped and disadvantaged should not be exempt. There are jobs they can do that don't require climbing a rope ladder or jumping out of a plane.

Too many kids leave high school and never find their place in the world. Many who go straight to college are unprepared, unfocused and poorly motivated. The frat world is much more important to them than academia. Speaking of academia - kids with two years of service discipline under their belts would be better prepared to process some of the biased views of professors. Many never go to college, settling for fast food work or clerking at the mall. Then there are the ones who lack any life disciplines and end up "hanging out", doing drugs, committing crimes, etc. They end up hating the system and blaming it for their woes. The discipline of military service would be beneficial to so many of these kids. At least the military will teach them that not all authority figures are there to hold their hands and tell them how special they are. Getting up early, hard work and having others depend on you are very valuable teaching tools! You wouldn't necessarily require all of them to go to war, but you would teach them a trade of some kind. Some would be used in community service, but not for "community organizing". No knocking on doors and asking people what kind of light bulbs they use or how much insulation is in the attic. No more calling out the National Guard for emergencies, or guarding the border, requiring many hard working Americans to miss months of work and income. Train these recruits to do these jobs.

A lot of these tweens are going to end up on assistance anyway. Why not make them spend two years contributing something for the pay? Some will come out just as angry and disturbed as they always were. But, some will thrive under their first experience with discipline and will come out of it ready to enter the work force and raise a family. Some argue that you can make them sign up but you can't make them do the work. Can't you imagine some of the petulant little twerps telling thier NCO "I ain't doin that" or "Do it yourself, MF!"! Some will refuse to cooperate with their supervisors or refuse to sign up at all. That kid would then forfeit any future claims to government benefits. Unless, of course, they start earning a good income, paying regular taxes and contributing to society. Then, if they should fall on hard times, they could make claims based on what they have paid in. In other words, QUIT ENABLING KIDS TO COME OUT OF SCHOOL WITH NO INTENT OF ACCOMPLISHING ANYTHING IN THEIR LIVES!

Awfully nice of you to "volunteer" others children for military service!

With all due respect to those who served in our military, there's simply no way in hell I'd ever allow my sons to enter the military after this Obamanation of a President has so screwed up this world. No way I'd ever let them serve to correct OBOZO's mistakes.

Send the liberals in for cannon fodder I say. They voted him in, let them pay the price.

You are right, and I thought the same until I heard the bill made it out of committee and to the floor. Do you know if that is true? Thanks!
