Oklahoma voters may be voting on a "shariah ban" in November. SQ 755 would amend the Oklahoma state constitution by forbidding state courts from considering shariah or other forms of international law in their rulings. The measure specifically refers to shariah.

State Rep. Rex Duncan (R-Sand Springs), chief author of the measure, said “SQ 755 will constitute a pre-emptive strike against Shariah law coming to Oklahoma.” He alleged that courts in the UK are enforcing shariah, and that this was a "cancer" for the UK.

“Shariah law coming to the U.S. is a scary concept,” said State Sen. Anthony Sykes, R-Moore, a co-author of he measure. “Hopefully the passage of this constitutional amendment will prevent it in Oklahoma.”

What good would that do? When muslims become 40% of your electorate and vote 100% for that adoption of sharia law, (57% of votes cast for), and when 50% of you traditional okies (60% of the electorate) vote against sharia law,(43% against sharia law), your state has voted for sharia law.

Are you sure sharia law has provisions for voting for retention of judges, or even for judges at all? Ask your imam.

Since there are investment funds that are Sharia-compliant, why doesn’t someone start a Sharia-noncompliant fund?

You guys are right. I was wrong. The judges in Oklahoma will follow some pandering demagogic statute, but they can not be trusted to follow the Constitution. It took the posts from you’ll to open my eyes to the depths of the stupidity.
