Oklahoma Considers 'Shariah Ban' (Get YOUR state to consider the same.)

Oklahoma voters may be voting on a "shariah ban" in November. SQ 755 would amend the Oklahoma state constitution by forbidding state courts from considering shariah or other forms of international law in their rulings. The measure specifically refers to shariah.

State Rep. Rex Duncan (R-Sand Springs), chief author of the measure, said “SQ 755 will constitute a pre-emptive strike against Shariah law coming to Oklahoma.” He alleged that courts in the UK are enforcing shariah, and that this was a "cancer" for the UK.

“Shariah law coming to the U.S. is a scary concept,” said State Sen. Anthony Sykes, R-Moore, a co-author of he measure. “Hopefully the passage of this constitutional amendment will prevent it in Oklahoma.”

This is a good idea, and I hope some of you will join me and ask your state senators, assemblypersons, governor, et al, to do the same, and send them the link above with an excerpt.

I will also call or email talk show hosts.

This bill is simply preventive maintenance, or you could say a peaceful preemptive strike.

We have a pro-Shariah Law Imam (Rauf), trying to build a mosque at Ground Zero, and our govt. is sending him to anti-American countries, at the tax-payers' expense.

The states need to take care of themselves, as best as they can.

Why bother? Obama or some other tool will just buy off a judge to over-rule the will of the voters.(/tongue-in-cheek)

Don't Oklahoma judges have to stand for retention elections? Is this put forth by the same rocket surgeons who want to repeal the 14th Amendment?

You cant use the word “co exist” when its intent is to supplant it and replace the government. Islam is a invasive government with its own judiciary that we see in Sharia.

As an invasive whose real intent is to overrun the government, it is in fact an enemy of the state...only thing lacking is guns/other weapons, but, then again, their military arm..Alquaeda, hamas, hezbollah etc etc have that handled.

They are a seditious group and the sooner America learns this the better off she will be.

Our laws are rooted in one, and only one, source: The United States Constitution (which, in turn, The Founders structured around the Word of the Lord God). It treats all who reside within it's power equally, no matter how it's been bastardized and re-interpreted by various slime activists and opportunists over the generations. Sharia law is an usurpation of the absolute, indelible framework of our existence, and can never be permitted to encroach upon and violate this nation's reason for even being. Lady Liberty is being raped, sodomized, and gang-banged by predatory, reptilian vermin slithering out of the surf, and it's time we took a truncheon to the beaches and headwaters of our shores before political correctness finally rips the sovereign and cultural roof from over our heads and drives us into the wilderness of our own land.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

The GOP should be pushing this in EVERY STATE.

Make the demonrats choose between supporting the discrimination, rape whipping stoning and total disrespect of women vs supporting womens access to the Rights all Americans are endowed with.

We need to own this before the dems try to.

Not EVERY state has “buy off” or activist judges, so we should always try.

“What’s good for OK is good for NJ (my home state).”

So will you contact your state senator?

“We need to own this before the dems try to.”

Right, and if the Dem politicians don’t want to own a ban of Shariah, let their votes be on record.

So what does the NOW have to say about Shariah Law? Haven’t read their statement opposing this demeaning treatment of women.

Thank you!

I just emailed a local talk show host in my state in NY’s capital district, plus a national talk show host, Roger Hedgecock.

Next, I will contact my politicians.

Actually district (trial court) judges are elected. Appellate judges/justices are on a retention ballot.

Duncan is an honorable man/Representative. He is retired military with a Ranger Tab, a Special Forces Tab, and a couple of medals and badges. His bio is at:

http://www.okhouse.gov/District35

I talked with him about this SQ last March. His effort is to prevent an Oklahoma Judge from considering the laws of other countries/cultures. Personally, I believe it is a valid question. Perhaps you don’t have concerns in Idaho, but it is (as was written) a pre-emptive strike at locking down what will be looked at in Oklahoma.

And no, it is not put forth by “the same rocket surgeons who want to repeal the 14th Amendment.” Even if it was it would be valid. So would the repeal effort. By the way, I am not sure I have ever met a “rocket surgeon.” I’ve met rocket scientists and surgeons, but not in the same person.

Thank you for your concern about us poor, uneducated folk in Oklahoma. But we can take care of ourselves.

“So what does the NOW have to say about Shariah Law? Haven’t read their statement opposing this demeaning treatment of women.”

All I heard was crickets.

I hope the rank and file liberal women (and men) will join the conservative women (and men) to fight against Shariah, since Shariah Law is especially brutal to women.

As I wrote, thanks for your concern.

No soreness. Just focused on the original issue of someone criticizing a friend of mine (Rex Duncan). We need more public servants like him.

Thanks for writing, and good on you.

Ibrahim Hooper, spokesperson for the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), called the amendment an example of anti-Islamic rhetoric reaching "Nazi-like" levels.

On the contrary Hooper! Islam are the Nazis! Hitler formed an SS division in the Middle East during WWII specifically to exterminate all the Jews!
