Sarah Palin Post: Sacrilege at Ground Zero by Charles Krauthammer
Citizen Palin 4 President ^ | Charles Krauthammer

Posted on 08/14/2010 8:12:28 AM PDT by MaxCUA

A place is made sacred by a widespread belief that it was visited by the miraculous or the transcendent (Lourdes, the Temple Mount), by the presence there once of great nobility and sacrifice (Gettysburg), or by the blood of martyrs and the indescribable suffering of the innocent (Auschwitz).

When we speak of Ground Zero as hallowed ground, what we mean is that it belongs to those who suffered and died there -- and that such ownership obliges us, the living, to preserve the dignity and memory of the place, never allowing it to be forgotten, trivialized or misappropriated.

Why would you expect an urban human cesspool to elect anything BUT libtards?

When these radical muslims say they want to "build bridges", I think they mean the seige machine kind

There is such outrage across the nation about this and the insensitivity by not only the Resident in the WH but the Muslims as a group ( save for the one woman in Canada who is Muslim and is against this building) that I wonder how it will be built. I don’t think any American construction company would build it but the Muzzies have so much money they will import workers and I suppose they have Muzzie inspectors so it will pass all those inspections, but what about others who may deem the rule “ an eye for an eye” thinking ok,,muszzie plowed into the WWTC and Pentagon and the field in PA..and try to plow something into the ugly mosque without a thought to the injury and damage to surrounding properties..two wrongs don’t make a right. There has to be some legal way to stop this.

Now, I might pay money to see a bunch of foreign national, Muzzie SCABS come into Noo Yawk and TRY to do construction work on this mosque.

Will Obama send troops into the city to protect them? Will Obama Shock Troopers fire on Americans?

There are more than enough legals in NYC to get the job done.

I just cannot believe how absolutely politically tone deaf this Oval Office Orifice is, coming out and STRONGLY supporting the mosque. Why, his support sounded very much like an official endorsement of a particular religion.

He is bound and determined to hit the 30s in approval by the end of the month, isn’t he?

Great article by CK. Thanks for the ping.

Regardless of what any BC may say about Obama’s birth, this proves that he is not one of us.

I too am disheartened, but not shocked...that there is the lone Canadian Muslim woman, maybe a few others that denounce radical Islamofascism.

This would be the perfect opportunity for the “moderate muslims” to protest en mass at this site to denounce this Mosque building! I don’t believe the crap about Moderate Muslims cause they will not denounce this!

Can you imagine if a Neo Nazi white supremist group, under some phony “christian church” decided to build a Nazi cultural center right by the Oklahoma building that wa s bombed!Lets see the Bamster endorse THAT one! Or the KKK building a “tolerance center” right across the street from MLK’s memorial!

” . . . two wrongs don't make a right . . . “

Leaving aside an analysis of the logic leading to that conclusion, let's look at the premise that both acts would be wrongs.

Leaving the muslim, the anti-American, and the extreme liberal sides out of this, I think most of the rest of us can agree that 9/11 and the building of a Mosque at that site are wrongs. Those two wrongs certainly do not make a right.

Would American refusal to allow the mosque be a wrong? Would construction company refusal to build the mosque be a wrong? Would nonviolent protest at the site of the mosque be a wrong? Would protest that involved property damage but little potential for injury be a wrong? Would protest with intent or likelihood for personal injury to muslims be a wrong? Would the sabotage of the facilities after they are built be a wrong?

Would it be a wrong to gather and so crowd the surrounding blocks that construction could not take place?

Would it be a wrong to slip into the mosque wearing the garb of a typical muslim - perhaps in a burka to get into the muslim-only parts or even just in regular muslim men's attire - garb under which one had vials of dried, powdered pig meat, or containers of lard, to be surreptitiously spread around?

Would it be wrong for citizens to consider the building of the mosque at that site an actual attack or act of intimidation that would warrant destructive or violent retaliation, such as our nation undertook against the moslem terrorists after 9/11, back when we had leaders who understood the need for such a thing? Lacking such leaders now, would it be wrong for people, acting out of personal conscience or for reason's of personal, family or national survival, to take matters into their own hands using destructive or violent methods?

I think an analysis of the premise - that it is a wrong to offer any response other than passive acquiescence to gloating terrorists and pathetic leaders - is a worthwhile mental exercise. (Or the other analyses - what, exactly, constitutes a “right” in this platitude?)

Any thoughts?

I am just thinking that violence such as the airplanes flying into it or some other crime style destruction of this miserable building would be the wrong way to go..I think someone in a place of authority should have the spine to get in the face of these people and say flat out NO it won’t be here.
