Lauer to Laura Bush: Is It 'Painful' to Be in New Orleans, Since So Much Blame Is Laid At Your Husband's Feet?

Today co-anchor Matt Lauer traveled to New Orleans, on Friday, to mark the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and interviewed the likes of former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, former FEMA Director Mike Brown, current Democratic Mayor Mitch Landrieu and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, but saved any sort of direct shots at George W. Bush for his interview with Laura Bush.

It is Bush's fault that the Mayor and Governor were DEMOCRATIC incompetents.

It is the Democrat party and if you refer to a Democrat pol he/she should be called a Democratic.

Probably more people saw his comments here on FR than watched his stupid show on TV.

Actually she was a good first lady. She kept her opinions to herself for 8 years. She wasn’t out there contradicting the President. She acted like a lady and no matter what she has said since then, she always acted like a lady and a proper first lady should.

Well said...

No one takes Matt Lauer seriously.

Laura Bush is a First Lady to be proud of.

The public is now well aware of the MSM bias for democrats before their own country.

No; however it may be you who is delusional!

Read and understand her comments made within the last few months. She is an unabashed LIBERAL!

Her husband, the record proves, is (like his father) an unabashed MODERATE which means he stood for nothing.

You may not be mentally deficient, but apparently you might be a borderline illiterate.

But then, unable to contain herself, began in the past few months to shoot her mouth off and to join Obama’s wookie on the national platform.

Not totally unheard of to join a member of the opposition to promote a public service message or something. I don’t agree with her but I still say she carries herself like a lady.

I’ve read her book. She’s no liberal. She may be a little wishy washy or an ‘elitist’ Republican, but she is not a liberal.

Funny how Republicans and Democrats view their rights so differently.

The Rats looked at the First Amendment and realized it gave them an opportunity to take over the press and brainwash the people with a steady diet of leftist propaganda, and therefore, perhaps, someday ease the establishment of communist government in America. So they took over nearly all the news outlets: the papers, the networks, and nearly all the jobs in journalism that America had to offer.

Republicans, on the other hand, looked at the Second Amendment and understood it gave them the means to defeat any attempt to establish tyranny in America. So they proudly served in the military and learned the art of war, and bought all the guns and practiced their marksmanship constantly.

Is it painful, Matt, to realize your side chose poorly?

Laura’s response was classic class. She and her husband where always miles above the crass hate of their critics.

Bush saved no less than 9,000 lives [most of them black] by taking swift large federal action.

The projections of a death toll for such a catastrophe all suggested that no less than 10,000 people would die.

On the other hand, Mayor Nagin and Governor Blanco were happy to see black people die in New Orleans in an effort to score political points against a President whom they hated.

Until conservatives are willing to defend their own, these silly Matt Lauer’s will dominate our public sphere. The Bush’s should have never been abandoned.

Yes indeed, it is all Bush’s fault!

Just like it is America’s fault Saddam gassed his own people and starved so many, those things only happened because America had sanction in place.

Every issue, no matter where it originates is Bush’s or America’s fault in the liberal fantasy utopia they live in! NO RESPONSIBLITY FOR THE GUILTY LEFT!

And, and I know what the circumstances were. And of course the President takes the blame in any situation, as we can see now with the new president.

Lost my coffee all over my screen on that one.

Not to worry, they only highlighted the contrast between then and now. Wonder if they will start selling T-shirts with Laura asking, “Do you miss me yet?”...
