Florida Governor and US Senate candidate Charlie Crist is getting so good at changing positions on an issue, he can now do it within the same televised interview. Appearing on CNN's State of the Union program today, the no-party-affiliated candidate was asked if he would return campaign contributions given by Republican donors before he abandoned the GOP. Mr. Crist's first response: "we'll give it back to people who had asked for it." But just a moment later he said, "People gave money to a good cause, I'm going to spend it on a good cause and that's how I feel about it."

Crist Campaign Slogan:

“I’ll say any damn thing I think you want to hear!”

I thought that ‘Effin Kerry had retired as the undisputed flip-flop champion but apparently Crist thinks he still has a shot at the title.

I wonder if Crist is self-destructing because his shot died when Meek won the Democratic primary?

I’d say so. Crist is reeling about deliriously. Backslapping, pumping hands and yukking it up like the colonel in the last stages of pneumonia in the opening POW depot scene in the movie “Slaughterhouse Five”.

He’s had it. Nobody in the dem power structure is going to dare diss the charismatic, telegenic black candidate but He of the Fake Tan is determined to enjoy the limelight to the last.

And to think we actually feared he would divide the conservative vote. Oh, Tee hee hee.

Vote your heart and conscience in the primaries. Forget “electibility” . . . letting the left dictate the Republicans policies just keeps us in the minority. When we show the country that conservatism works, we maintain a majority. And next time we have a Republican Congress and President lets have a conservative Congress and President rather than the Bush big spenders.

re: electability, I would dearly love to see the RNC do something both constructive AND within their rightful purview and impose some sanity in our republican primary system. Enough with Iowa and New Hampshire getting to dictate our presidential candidates. Enough with the open polling.

Amen to that. Open primaries in a two party system are stupid. Too much strategic voting.

I think Crist is done. He is a mess and now just trying to salvage a job with Bama in the WH. Any bets?

If I had given money I’d file a small claims case. If everyone in Florida who gave to him and want their money back would do this, he’d be forced to give it back. It would be too expensive to fight each case and if he doesn’t respond he automatically loses. At least that’s the way it is in Texas.

Florida does not have an open primary. Charlie and his butt buddies in the NRSC created the monster that he is. Now if you want to see what an open primary beholds, take a look at Arizona.
