See? Tyranny is not a difficult task. It is already on the books! Best regards to all,

They should. Violating people’s right in Louisiana didn’t work out well during Katrina.
Doesn’t North Carolina have natural resources like tar and feathers?

Hey, come on. This makes perfect sense.
There is a storm out over the Atlantic that might hit, so the 2nd amendment is suspended & nobody can carry any type of gun.
Yeah, perfect sense...

So I assume that they will also be able to quarter soldiers in private homes, conduct warrentless searches and seize property without due process.
To: bill1952
Absolutely. No worry about looters at all. A natural disaster which overwhelms law enforcement is exactly the time I want to be bearing my gun in my own home.

The weird thing - it is a state wide declaration- from the mountains to the sea. You could get arrested in the mountains for a Hurricane on the coast.

It also depends of the cops are being good guys or bad guys. For example, in New Orleans, at least some of the cops were decidedly on the bad guy side (think that bridge).

This is called conditioning. Slowly everyone “gets used” to suspension of rights during “natural disasters”..even before they are..sort of PRE crime weather.
Drip drip drip.
To: GunsAndBibles
Good catch. What about abortions that are guaranteed by the constitution? Will they suspend those too?
I can't imagine people shooting one-another over the last loaf of bread or roll of toilet paper. At least this gives bad-guys a green light to committ crimes against persons. Idiots.

You’re exactly right. But over in Miss., that didn’t occur. New Orleans had more bad guys, or potentially bad guys, than good guys.

Bullshit.
IF this is going on in North Carolina, it is happening because the Legislature there wants it that way, which means that the voters who put those people in the Legislature want it that way.
If you live there and don’t like it, you have my sympathy. If you voted in the Legislators who did this on your behalf, I really don’t want to hear any of you bitch. If you don’t like it, work harder next time and don’t lose the election.
Sorry if you don’t like that, but it isn’t my job to tell you what you want to hear. Someone must tell you what you NEED to hear...

Ridiculous. She needs to come to the Texas gulf area and see how you get ready for a hurricane evac. The first things you load are the guns, the ammo, the family Bible and your stash of cash. No way would Perry or any other Texas politician try to pull this stunt.

You would think that a state of emergency would be just the time you’d want to have your firearm(s).
I’m going to guess that most, if not all, states have this same provision. Sure would be interesting to find out.

Well, actually in the case of the dove hunters I can see it. In a hurricane they must be going, what, 140 mph? I don’t know of many who can hit a dove going 140+. It is a recipe for heartache and tears.
As for the rest of it, I would ignore it. Fight it in court if necessary, then get the law changed. Didn’t they learn anything from Katrina?
