Well, this is one of the colleges that I'm looking at to send my son. Luckily he has a good head on his shoulders and would probably attend just to see what type of people actually are showing up for these meetings.

This particular flyer was given to one of my sons friends that is attending UMass Amherst this year. All the kids that posted on this picture stated exactly the same thing. Let's all attend and pretend we are communists.

Not sure why I am surprised, but I guess this has been going on for decades and I was never aware of it. Now with one in college and 2 more to go, I see the light.

It’s college. If you go to college, you’re going to be exposed to different people and different ideas. It’s a good thing—how are we supposed to battle these morons if we don’t educate ourselves about what they’re thinking and doing?

Sounds like you’ve prepped your son with a good background. If he goes there, he should be fine.

Let all of these stupid ideologies be exposed in college, and studied. They’re not demons that possess people, they are points of view the young should learn about so they can be ready for them when the media tries to sneak them in under their noses, with new labels, later on.

These guys have been around forever....
I went to ZooMass in the mid 80’s - liberalism oozes from every kNook and Cranny in Amherst.
It’s a very liberal education and atmosphere.
I went there for the reasonably priced piece of paper.

They don't call it ZooMass for nothing.

I’ve seen even more Socialist stuff being passed out to the public in Los Angeles - not merely college students.

It happened about three or so weeks ago. I’m not sure if this was a planned event, or a regular occurring there, because I travel often.

Most people do not know the Obama ‘Yes we can’ chant came directly from the ‘Communist Workers Party’ of the 60’s.

Conservative students should attend and not allow any socialists to speak - like they do when a Conservative shows up on campus.

Let them have a taste of their own medicine.

The ISO is active around my area. Me and a friend did go to one of their public meetings they held at a local park, to see what they were up to. Just a bunch of whiny leftists wailing about “police brutality”.

We got up to leave about halfway through and some red came chasing us, trying to get our names and phone numbers. We gave em names and numbers of people we didn’t like too much :)

Sometimes I feel like I’ve crawled out from under a rock. In my day I wasn’t able to attend college and went directly to work. So, this is all an awakening for me.

Very interesting tho to see that many of you were all very aware of this. And yes, since my awakening to the political arena (about 3 years now) I’ve educated my kids about socialist and communist behavior. They are all very conservative. I don’t know why this stuff still blows me away though?

I do appreciate all the comments that were posted on this picture on facebook from all the kids. Very enlightening! Great bunch we have growing up now.

UMass Class of ‘95.

What do you expect, this is the same campus that has a 26 story library (the tallest library in the US) named after a socialist (W.E.B. Dubois).

When I was a youngster, working in the mines, we used to get a lot of new hires with dreams of the Wobblies (IWW). They thought they would come in and lead us poor Whites and Mexicans into a socialist nirvana. They usually lasted less than two months as the work was too hard and their politics was ridiculed.

When I was in high school I was exposed to Jesus freaks, the SDS, Communists, and the John Birch Society (just to name a few). I was curious about their views, but more curious as to why they were so obliged to be societal misfits.

I guess a large part of my perspective was that, given the political climate of the time, they were misfits, oddballs, and waay out of the mainstream.

Nowadays with the dramatic shift to the left, most of those extremist views only seem extremist to a few of us. Even the ‘sting’ of being called a Socialist or commie has been neutralized by the left. They’re no longer afraid of the association.

Colleges are nothing but leftwing and anti-moral indoctrination centers these days.

Ah, the library....
In my term we couldn’t even get near the building - had to use an underground entrance a bit away from it - on the pond side....the darn bricks kept breaking free from the thing and crashing to the ground.
Class of ‘86

It is a beautiful landscape and that is about it. It is a hardcore and aggressive, radical left and partying school and town.

I would think long and hard, if I had it to do over again, about allowing my kids to live in college dorms. Both of them feel the same way, after the fact. It is a shallow and corruptive socialization experience any human would be better off avoiding especially when the whole reason of attending school is to learn. The alternative would have been them commuting to a nearby state University and then transfering after two years to a more competitive (expensive) and specializing school for their chosen majors. If I knew then what I know now, I would have just told them we could not afford any different and closed the door to dorm life.

“Happy Valley” is a festering swamp of colleges for rich liberal kids: Amherst College, Hampshire, Smith, Mt. Holyoke. And a center for female alternative lifestyles. Even Wikipedia admits “Many consider Northampton as the lesbian capital of the United States.”

Your son will be surrounded by socialists. He won’t have to attend any meetings.
